~ Basic ~
Name: Narumi Hara cao mei
School Attending: Lulim/ Le Rim
Age/ Year in School: 12/First Year
~ Appearance ~
Hair Color: Narumi has bright green hair that changes shades depending on how much time she spends in the sun. It ranges from a deep emerald to a almost neon green. Her tips and highlights tend to be either darker or lighter than a majority of her hair.
Hairstyle: Her hair varies wildly in style, the only thing that is common between any of them are the fact that none of them are pulled up by scrunchies. Narumi likes to cut her own hair so it will look different everyday. Her hair always have bangs, sometimes they are swept to the side or clipped back but they are always there. Most of the time Narumi's hair comes to her chin but she'll let it grow out to her mid-neck or shoulders if she feels like it. The longest it has ever been is to her ankle but she chopped it off pretty fast. If she wants to she'll grow out two strands of hair to frame her face. Barrettes, headbands, hats and braids aren't a rarity either.
Eye Color: Narumi is suffering from complete heterochromia and has one blue and one green eye. One eye is a glassy baby blue while the other is a green that always seems to match her hair. Doctors suspected an infection while she was a baby messed with the pigment in one of her eyes and altered it. Narumi has colored contacts, a green contact for her right eyes and a blue contact for her left, that makes sure that either both eyes are either blue or green. Most don't even know that her eyes are different colors since she never reveals it to anyone.
Height: This greenette is quite short being only four foot nine. Her parents were both quite short so she doesn't expect to get very tall.
What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform?
For someone who spends so much of her time outside Narumi is quite a girly-girl. Skirts and dresses are her best friends though short-shorts aren't something she's opposed to. Narumi hates wearing jeans because they constrict her and make her stiff but leggings and tights are just fine. If she is wearing shirts, they are usually oversized or covered in scarves and jackets. This girl definitely loves to layer. Narumi loves accessories and is a bit of a hoarder when it comes to them. She wears bows, flowers, headphones, hats, barrettes, animals ears from time to time and if she isn't wearing them her glasses will end up there too. Footwear is the only thing lacking in her wardrobe. Narumi prefers to go around barefoot but if it's needed she'll either wear a pair of flats or boots.

~ Personality ~
Narumi is a flighty young lady, never the one to stay in one place. The trees are her home and that's where she spends most of her time. It puts a barrier between her and the world. As much as she denies it she's lonely but doesn't want to get close to anyone. It's not something she understands because she continues to deny a fundamental part of her life. Narumi's entire family was taken from her but she still denies they have died. She's told people so many lies about why she doesn't leave for the summer and why her family doesn't call that she doesn't even know the truth. It's just something she can't handle so she represses the memory of the car accident and refuses to admit that they are gone. If you try and tell her otherwise she'll start to lose it. Narumi has a fit and tries to find an exit out of the situation immediately.
She might not consciously accept what has happened but her mind does and it has changed her. She has fears she can't explain, unjustified anger that pops out of nowhere and a complete disconnect to other people. Her mind knows that losing anyone else would destroy what little is left of this shattered girl so it built walls around her. Narumi finds reasons to hate people and reason for people to hate her. She causes arguments and avoids affection. Narumi absolutely hates being touched. If no one can befriend her, she won't miss anyone when they leave. The only things that can easily burrow their way into her heart are animals.
The car accident have left deep scars in Narumi's mind. She hates large bodies of water and still hasn't learned to swim. If her feet can't touch the bottom of a lake or the ocean she'll sink like a stone. Cars make her highly uncomfortable and she can only stand being in them for small amounts of time, it worsens when she is being driven on a bridge. Narumi has terrible nightmares about the incident but only believes them to be nightmares. They keep her awake at night and she usually wakes up screaming or crying. It makes having a roommate a pain. Alcohol and her just don't get along. She won't touch, look at it and won't even as much as smell it.
Fiercely independent is a good way to describe her. Asking for help is out of the question mostly because she's afraid that she'll ask for too much. Narumi is all for helping others, it helps with the guilt that she doesn't know she has. It actually became a dream of hers, to become a nurse to help others. She made a mistake and she couldn't do anything to take it back so she'll do what she can now. Narumi is always ready for an emergency. Narumi likes to consider herself to be a nurse in training. If you're in need of help and Narumi is within a mile radius she will come for you. She is determined to help everyone and everything she can.
Narumi may be hard to have a deep connection with most of the time she's actually quite nice to be around. She doesn't avoid contact with people and will happily hold a conversation with anyone but once she feels like you're coming too close she'll provoke you or shut you out. The only time she won't be inclined to socialization in when she is in the trees. Narumi will be very cold, harsh even. Her demeanor will completely change. It is very hard to get her to come down once she has gone up.
~ School ~
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
The position to her stands for love and devotion, it stands for a couple proud enough to proclaim their love to the world. Narumi finds it interesting how the people that hold the Etoile position have such complete trust in each other. She admires what the title stands for. Not that she likes to say but she wonders what it would be like to have a love story so captivating that it won the hearts of the other girls. Narumi would love to find out.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
She's never thought about it since falling in love and anything close was never something she wanted. If by some chance she does find someone she'd be up for it.
What does your character think of Sado Kagami and Kitsuki Sha, the current etoiles?
Narumi believes that they're a lie, something fake. She definitely dislikes Sado considering that she has eyes for someone else yet still holds the Etoile position Kitsuki. It seems almost like a betrayal of trust. Narumi is much easier on Kitsuki thinking she is a victim in a act created by Sado. She thinks that Kitsuki deserves better and that Sado is a monster for abusing someone so innocent. Narumi can't seem to get in her head that friends may join the competition too.
What does your character think of the other schools?
Narumi cares very little for the childish competition help between the schools. To her it's stupid and a waste of energy.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Narumi was born to a normal family, that typical four person family; a mother, a father, a son and a daughter. There was nothing unusual about them or anything they did. The weirdest thing in the little foursome was that their daughter had a condition no one knew about. Other than that nothing peculiar. Narumi was the youngest in the family, her brother being two years older than her. The two siblings were as close as can be practically best friends. They did everything together which didn't help Narumi become the most feminine girl in the world.
Her mother was the typical homemaker while her husband and kids horsed around. Narumi only having two other males to play with led to a rather masculine appreciation for most sports. If she playing a sport she is into Narumi becomes extremely competitive and is a huge trash talker. When she's losing she has nothing nice to say. Her mother got her in dresses which ended up ripped or dirty by the end of the day. Most people couldn't quite understand how a girl can love dresses and jewelry so much but still roll around in the dirt without a care.
Her conflicting personality led to troubles making friends at school. Narumi wasn't too bothered being alone though since she always had her brother when she came home. They had a treehouse that they'd always go to that was up in a tree in their backyard. The two of them would sit there for hours just talking and sometimes even stayed overnight. It was their escape from the world. It's where her love of trees and heights came from. She never started climbing them until after the accident.
It was Narumi's birthday and they were driving to a restaurant where they were going to have dinner together as a family. Narumi was jumping out of her seat with excitement. She couldn't stop herself from talking about how much cake she was going to eat and how much fun they were going to have. It was going to so well the only issues was that the weather wasn't matching the atmosphere. It was rainbows and sunshine inside the car but it was raining cats and dogs outside. A heavy thunderstorm had rolled in on top of them.
They were on a bridge not too far away from their destination when Narumi finally got tired of talking. She wanted to listen to some music. Narumi leaned over between the front seats to change the radio station and her father took his eyes off the road to tell her to sit back down. That split second when he looked away a drunk driver was coming careening towards them. Her father had just enough time to turn the car so that it wouldn't hit them head on instead it shoved them off the side of the bridge into the sea below.
The impact had knocked her out and when she woke up the car was quickly filling up with water. Her head was above the water level and she turned to help her brother but when she looked at him his eyes were closed and his chest was still. Narumi didn't have to look long to know that he was gone. She turned to the front and she could see her mother moving. She moved to go towards her but her mother signaled her to go up while she got her father. Of course she hesitated but listened to what her mother told her.
The water was over her head and she had little air left. Narumi opened the door and kicked towards what she thought was the surface. Narumi was a terrible swimmer and was having a hard time keeping herself afloat. She did her best and waited for her parents to come back. She waited and waited and waited and she knew long ago that they weren't coming. In desperation she tried diving back down but she saw nothing but darkness and the need for air drove her back up.
She was heart-broken, tired and cold. Narumi really had no strength left and before she knew it her head slipped underwater. The next thing she knew was that she woke up in a hospital. Doctors tried telling her what happened but she didn't hear it. Narumi told them that her parents and her brother were home, fine, alive. No matter how hard they tried they couldn't get through to her. Her mother's sister had custody over her and had no idea what to do.
Her aunt tried talking to her but to no avail. Not wanting to deal with her in denial niece she sent her away and enrolled her in Le Rim. They thought it would be good for her to be around kids her own age and to socialize. They thought it would maybe get her to slowly come to the realization that her family is gone on her own.

Green eyes danced across the grass-field as bare-feet pounded into the ground below. The grass was slick with dew as the sun began to rise over the horizon. Narumi skidded to a stop at the base of a thick tree. She hit it and fell back her head slammed into the ground but she neither groaned or screamed in pain. She rolled on the floor, breathing in the smell of freshly cut grass. It soothed her fit of giggles as she pushed herself onto her feet. She looked up at the intricate maze of branches above and could just see the edges of a bird's nest. Hand over hand. Jagged edges of bark dug into her palms as the rambunctious twelve year old swiftly made her way up the oak tree. Leaves tickled her nose and branches got caught in her hair as she climbed higher and higher into the sky. Narumi stood up on the thick branch below her and hopped wrapping her fingers around another one for leverage. She brought her knees up and swung around landing on the branch she had been holding.
Slowly, Narumi crept her way to the edge of the branch. It bent and cracked slightly under her weight but held fast. She pushed her head through the thick wall of leaves and watched as the sun rose above the horizon. She sighed letting the light reflect off the glassy surface of her jade eyes. If only everything was that beautiful. With a sigh she pulled back and shuffled her way across the branch. Narumi could hear it whine under her weight and she had to stop ever so often afraid to go any farther, afraid to fall. The green haired girl stood where the branch connected to the thick base of the tree. Narumi leaned forward and was literally nose to nose with a nest of twigs. Chirps resonated from within it. Her eyebrows scrunched together as she pursed her lips. With a roll of her eyes she pushed up to the tips of her toes.
Narumi peeked over to the nest and could see three blue puffs that was squirming. Her eyes widened as she slowly reached into the nest and picked up one of the baby birds. "You've grown." She cupped the bird in one hand as she ran a finger down the back of it's neck. Her eyes fluttered slightly as she cradled the baby to her chest. Without thinking she opened her mouth and began to sing the first thing that came to mind.
Skylark
Have you anything to say to me?
Won't you tell me where my love can be?
Is there a meadow in the mist
Where someone's waiting to be kissed?
Oh skylark
Have you seen a valley green with spring?
Where my heart can go a journeying
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane
And in your lonely flight
Haven't you heard the music in the night?
Won-
Have you anything to say to me?
Won't you tell me where my love can be?
Is there a meadow in the mist
Where someone's waiting to be kissed?
Oh skylark
Have you seen a valley green with spring?
Where my heart can go a journeying
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane
And in your lonely flight
Haven't you heard the music in the night?
Won-
Just as she was bringing the bird up to her face it jumped to life. Narumi gasped as the bird fell from her hands. "No!" she screamed as the tiny bird fell. She could see it try and flap its tiny wings, its feeble attempt at flying. Narumi looked down at what she was standing on and tried her best to follow to falling bird. She could no longer see it but she could hear its cries. Before she was even half-way down, it became silent. Narumi paused trying to make out any sounds but heard nothing. "No, no, no, no." She re-doubled her efforts and dropped down to the ground.
Her heart-rate dropped the moment she saw the bird in someone's hands. She immediately ran over peering down at it. Narumi took a breath and looked up at the girl holding it. "Did you catch him or did you find him on the floor?"
