Kaya Delacroix
if it looks like I need help, then you obviously need to get your eyes checked!
~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~x~
Name: Kaya Delacroix // Kaa.
School Attending: St Miator.
Age/ Year in School: (choose one below) 16/Fifth Year
~ Appearance ~
Face Claim: League of Legends: Katarina Du Coteau
Hair color: Kaya's hair plays a very large role in what makes her stand out amidst the crowd. Her long locks are filled with a deep light of multi-textured shades: crimson, vermilion and copper cradling each strand brilliantly. She keeps it out sometimes, the length running right down to her waist and hips, only tying it up in a loose ponytail when the mood suits her.
Hair style: Straight, plain and simple. Kaya doesn't like doing anything fancy with it, whether up or down it always looks silky smooth.
Eye color: Bright and inquisitive, her eyes complete her image; the corners are tapered slightly to give off a rather feline feel. They are colored a rich emerald-green with small tinctures of incredibly pale peridot flecks. Thin, finely shaped eyebrows dip over her eyes in what is usually a judgmental frown, though it would be hard to miss the casual way they glint or the usual, mocking gleams they more often than not hold. Over her left eye rests an ugly looking scar, though Kaya was fortunate enough to be left without any major effects to her vision, sometimes glasses is a must.
Height: Kaya's stature is... not very intimidating. At a height of 5'6", she may be taller than her Japanese peers, she also barely reached the height of her friends back in her home town. She isn't stocky or muscular, nor is she delicate and thin. Her build betrays a hint of her parkour talents, however months of neglect on her body has deteriorated her ability to be as nimble as she was.
What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform? Finding every opportunity to discard the musty, Gothic looking dress, Kaya prides herself in her somewhat unique choice of clothing. She prefers darker colors: blacks and dark blues make up her wardrobe, though the odd crimson and white finds themselves in her closet too. Leather is her preferred clothing material, however Kaya has been known to indulge herself in jeans and cotton shirts. What she wears largely depends on her mood, which remains mostly on the lower end of the spectrum.
What kinds of activities is your character involved in?
Japanse Tea Ceremony: No.
Flower Arrangement: No.
Ballroom Dancing: No.
Needlepoint: No.
Foreign Language: Yes.
Band: No.
Are you a Maid? No.
Is your character on the Student Council? No.
Personality: Either by nature or nurture, Kaya possesses a rather violent and short tempered side. Whether it be because someone said something insulting, or threw a rock at her, she is the type of girl who will never take it lying down. In fact, she'll force a fight whenever possible - through tongue or fists, it matters not. Fortunately, she has been able to keep these nasty streaks to herself, exercising a few meditation techniques she had been taught though now and then, she finds herself in the midst of an 'episode' without even knowing how she got there.
Kaya is tactless, yet witty when it counts. That is, when her opponent is clearly bigger and stronger than her because if the blood and temper goes to the muscle it means its not in the head, right? Unfortunately, her wit comes in the form of snark and rude backtalk, peppered with choice insults of a most colorful language. Though she absolutely loves to play mind games with people, she won't be afraid to tell you to 'bugger off' right in your face - especially if she's feeling moody. Which is 80% of the time.
She does attempt to be nice and polite, and will certainly act that way if you've managed to earn her respect. Kaya was brought up spoiled, but she certainly didn't possess the mindset of 'money buys happiness' because that sort of happiness normally comes back to punch you in the throat. It is this that makes her moderately tolerable as she has some sense of moral character - and some may say that she attempts to project it into the people she surrounds herself with a little too much.
Kaya brings an air of superiority towards whatever she does, to prove to herself above all that she can do things right. She has people in her life that she strives to never become, and she will go to great lengths to pause and think about her actions before she does them. That is, if she can keep a cool head. She knows that her temper affects her judgment and so visibly attempts to maintain her logic whilst ignoring anything and everything that may aggravate her further.
View of the Etoiles:
After transferring to Astraea Hill, one of the first things she was spoken to about was of the Etoile pair. Popularity was required, and it reminded her largely of presidential elections where one would garner the favor of the majority in order to hold a prestigious position that encompassed all three schools. This in itself left a rather bitter taste in Kaya's mouth and while she knew it was too soon to judge at face value, something didn't ring quite right with her when it came to vying for the affections of the masses. She also knew that there was probably more to it than just a pretty face and a flirtatious personality, but Kaya simply isn't interested in such a strange tradition. She'd rather judge a person by their merits, not by their titles and roles in society. Though she does admit that appearances do lend itself to such situations. Kaya prefers her own voice above all, and while she has no invested amusement into the Etoile system, she'd rather it not get in her way.
Sado: Has had no contact with the 'seme' Etoile, however first impressions show signs of a typical female who just wants to be the best. Neither her height nor her stature impresses or intimidates Kaya in the slightest. However, it should be said that if she ever got to know Sado despite 'first impressions' making their imprint on her subconscious, the sort of 'kind' disposition that the Etoile possesses would no doubt irritate yet amuse her at the same time. Geniality is a trait one would normally find rather attractive and Kaya is no exception. Unfortunately, due to the position Sado currently holds, no doubt a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy will come into existence.
Kitsuki: As the 'uke' of the Etoile pair, Kaya has to admit that someone like this didn't seem to come as much of a surprise. From what she has seen (and the amount of attention she has spared), Kitsuki seems mostly normal as far as the archetype goes. After all, you always need someone on the backfoot - meant in the least demeaning way possible, of course. Kaya has noted the tell-tale sign of a girl whom people treat as something to be protected, from the fragile emotional maturity Kitsuki lacks but again, first impressions really were not so impressive.
She can see how the pair would be made the 'stars' considering they both uphold the spirit of what the schools wish to convey - gentle individuals who stand up for themselves. Too bad Kaya is too stubborn to see past all that - really, they're just figureheads for the board to show up.
View of other schools:
Kaya never enjoyed entertaining patriotic thoughts, figuring that there was nothing that separated one from another except for raw talent and skill. Having said that, she grudgingly wonders why her mother hadn't chosen Spica for her to attend (knowing full well why she didn't - tradition and culture above all!)
Spica students seemed, at best, full of themselves in her eyes. The athletic stars and the golden voices all screamed individual talent with their hockey sticks and metronomes. While there appeared to be a couple of... interesting people to take note of and possibly test herself against, she couldn't stand those types. That is, people like her. As aggravating as she knew she could be, Kaya swore that others were just making a mockery out of her. Though she had to admit to feelings of some jealousy towards Spica's encouragement of individualism.
Le Rim was too relaxed for her, and while first impression showed the rather lax nature of the school, she had to admit that the amount of time the students sacrificed for their strange club activities was amusing to say the least. It appears, to her at least, the most lenient and free spirited of students and teachers alike came from Le Rim and it being the youngest school out of the three, Kaya wasn't surprised. Still though, it appeared to be an institute where one exercised a rather liberal view towards life.
History:
Kaya was born into a well-to-do French family, hence her rather foreign looks and burning red hair. She lived a relatively normal life as a child, albeit quite spoiled by her adoring parents who attempted to exercise some restraint on their hyperactive child. Other than that, all seemed well. Until one day, Kaya's mother vanished without a trace, with confessions that she had cheated on her doting husband for a good amount of years now and that the family should consider her 'dead'.
Her father was a changed man, after that. A strong businessman left meek and at the command of another woman who was there to soothe his aches. A Japanese lady of quiet breeding who had moved to France despite the wishes of her own parents. Not two years had passed when Kaya found herself at her father's second wedding, playing bridesmaid to a bride she absolutely despised the minute she looked upon the woman. Her father was at his new bride's every whim, giving her everything she so desired and more.
Her stepmother was, coincidentally, a past lover of her father's and one whom Kaya highly suspected for her mother's tarnished reputation in the family. Indeed, she believed that she had orchestrated both her mother's disappearance and the notes of adultery. It was at twelve years of age when she confronted her stepmother with such loud accusations. It was also at twelve where Kaya procured the vicious scar down her left eye, as her mother raised a sharpened bread knife from her kitchen in an answer to such 'blasphemy'. Of course her father would turn away from his rebellious daughter to comfort his anchor, his world, believing every word. That Kaya had inflicted the wound upon herself in an effort to punish her mother for not being 'good enough'. Her hatred for people who acted in such a manner was forever etched in history.
It would take Kaya's stepmother four years to realize that her stepdaughter would never change and become the obedient child she had always wanted. With her husband's wishes, they moved to Japan under pretense that the mother was 'homesick'. In reality, she simply wished to be rid of her daughter while at the same time, teaching her the manners of a 'proper' society. Thus, Astraea Hill was chosen and the traditional call of Miator seemed to appeal to the stepmother the most.
Despite Kaya's disappointment in her father's behavior for what has been the majority of her life, she still respected the man for what he had been. He was the only true family she had left, and she didn't want to lose him. She attends this school not for the sake of her stepmother to become a gentle lady, but to soothe her father's pleading and to make him happy by making her happy. Though only two years of schooling remains, she wonders just how far her stepmother would go in order to silence the only truth she wishes to hide.
Sample post:
"W-WHAT!? Absolutely NOT!"
The explosion was both very loud and incredibly obstinate, emanating from a subtle black car at the gates of Astraea Hill. Even with the windows rolled tightly up, one could practically feel the wrathful aura of the teenage girl huddled up on the leather seats. Said female was currently staring at the towering buildings before her, sparing not a single glance to the strange creatures in black, white and beige walking briskly back and forth between the pathways. "You mean... I'm transferring here!? I don't f--"
Her stepmother, ever the kind and gentle spirit reached to the back and walloped her daughter across the head with a hiss. "Watch your language! You're being sent to one of the most expensive schools in the area, and I'll not have you kicked out before you even leave the car!" As if on cue, the vehicle gave a ceremonious click which signaled the unlocking of the doors. Normally, Kaya would have been elated to know that freedom was just one handle push away but naturally, all she wanted was to escape this strawberry shaped nightmare. In fact, she literally shrank into her seat with a defiant, "No!" but her mother simply was at her wits end. The violent clack-clack of heels on concrete was the only warning Kaya had before she was pulled out by the arm with a rough tug.
Kaya pointedly ignored the students that stopped to stare as she felt her face take the color of a maraschino cherry, the odd coloration forming from both embarrassment and anger at her mother's actions. She would not be pushed around and shaken like a doll! She opened her mouth, fully bent on unleashing exactly what she thought about mother dearest when the obnoxious sound of the older woman's phone rang through her thoughts. Her mouth snapped shut, clenching her fists anxiously as her mother's tone turned adoring. It was no secret as to who the woman's conversational partner was. Kaya spaced out deliberately as the conversation took place, not wanting to drag her mood down even further as her eyes attached themselves to the large trees around her.
The splutter of a car coming to life and the loud slam of a door alerted the red-head to her mother's escape. Kaya stared. "The first thing I'll have you do when you return is to pour some tea for your father and I." A sickly sweet smile accompanied the little wiggle of the older woman's fingers from the window as the shiny vehicle drove off, leaving Kaya to cough angrily as the smoke slapped her face rudely. She stuck her tongue out, grabbing at her two suitcases before turning around with a loud sigh. The red-head didn't know why that old woman was so bent on having her learn to balance a teapot on her head. But if it was for... well, whatever the case was.
"Guess I'm stuck here." A grumble, a kick of her shoe against the hard ground... then a resigned sigh. "The things I do..."

Lovely profile, however I have to ask that you be specific in the etoiles section. I now know what you think of the position overall, but what do you think of Kitsuki and Sado? You can read their profiles by clicking on their avatars on the right side of the page if you want to write a hypothetical "If she knew them personally, she would think this and that about Sado and this and this about Kitsuki" or you can base it just off of looks, "what would she think if she just saw them at a distance and happened to know they were the etoiles?" Or you can do both.
I ask for specifics because Etoiles were so important in the original story, I want them to be recognized specifically here too.
So add to that and give me a heads up, then I can accept you. ^^

Okay, looks good. Welcome to the site. She's in dorm M17 by herself for now, though she may get a roomie if someone joins of they same year and school. She's a very interesting character, there's only been a few "mean" girls here and one of them (if you so choose) you can say she's heard of. In our RP one of the girls who graduated from Lulim went on to become a punk rock star. She was violent, rebellious and even though she was sent to Lulim of all places she didn't lose herself to the fluff and still went on to do her own thing regardless of anything anyone said. It can be just a little ditty of info your girl learns for whatever reason if you want to use it, she could even be a fan. The girls name was Azriella VanDrey, her face claim is Nana Osaki, and her band is "Two Faced Wolves". If you want to use that info.
Anyway, accepted. See you around the rp!
