Name: Asuka Kuroda (ttalgi)
Age: 14
Year in school: Third
School Attending: St. Lulim
Appearance: Asuka is pale skinned, as if she's not out in the sun very often. Her hair is streaked dark with engine grease, although she always tries to wash it out.
Her ears are pierced, with small silver studs. The only other piece of jewelry she wears is a silver bird pendant, on a short enough cord to count as a choker. Anything else would get in the way of fixing an engine.
Hair color: Dark red
Hair style: Torso length, kept in a ponytail
Eye color: Brown
Height: 4' 6"
Dress: When not in the uniform of Lilum, Asuka wears a black t-shirt over worn jeans, and if she's working on an engine, she has coveralls on as well.
As before, she keeps her hair in a ponytail, although if she's not working, she might wear it loose.
Personality: More than anything else, Asuka would rather be inside an engine, or working underneath a car. She tends to be distant, and flakey, especially when she has engines on the brain.
But, if someone can put up with her distance, the fact that she talks about engines and cars nearly constantly, and get that mechanics are her passion, they would find themselves with a loyal friend, who will listen to their problems, and give the best advice she can.
Although she doesn't really get people, she seems to have good instincts and common sense, although usually she's to focused on mechanics to make use of these.
However, a quirk of hers, that is apparently a sign of her passion for engines, is that she veiws cars, and engines, as habving personalities and desires of their own. It's one of the few things that make her odd.
By the way, Asuka doesn't like conflict. She will always try to reach a compromise, as long as it doesn't mean changing who she is.
View of the Etoiles: She looks up to the both of them, and she feels admiration (and maybe crushes somewhat) on Sado. She finds Kitsuki cute, and respects her position.
Despite being new, Asuka knows about the Etoiles, and respects the idea of them, as long as they don't mistreat others.
View of other schools: While she respects the other schools, Asuka knows that Lilum is the best place for her. That, and she's wary of spica students, because she wouldn't want to wreck their uniforms.
History: Since Asuka was very young, she's loved cars and engines. Her father was fascinated by cars, and by the time Asuka was five, he was teaching her to do basic matinence. Much to her mother's dismay.
Her mother had gone to St Miator, and had been hoping to raise Asuka as a proper young woman. But this was where the two disagreed. Asuka's father could see that she would bloom in an enviroment where she could get her hands dirty, and do what she loved. Her mother was insistant on the idea that no young woman could ever make her mark in society if she spent her whole life elbow deep in engine grease. They argued a lot, but eventually, the mother's schooling won through. Being a Miator student, she had been taught to be a good wife. They didn't argue much after that.
By the time Asuka was ten, several people who lived near her were bring their cars to her for simple matainence. There were others, who trusted her with more complicated stuff, and soon, as well as attending a public school, Asuka was basically working as a part time mechanic. When she was fourteen, she was doing just about everything mechanical in the neighbourhood, unless her father didn't have the parts.
She didn't really notice her parents arguing, but one time, she heard her father say that he would only let Asuka go to a private school if she wanted to, and if she could study mechanics. More was said, and then, he stormed out, only to end up as an unlucky victim of accidental death.
After that, Asuka was pulloed out of her school, and her mother was insisting that she go to Astraea Hill. Asuka wanted to study mechanics, and the two began to argue. The compromise was Lilum, where Asuka had heard there was a club (probably small) for mechanically inclined people.
Reluctantly, her mother consented to sending her to Lilum, slightly annoyed that because of her husband, her daughter could not be a 'proper member of society'. Asuka only knows this because she heard her mother and a family friend talking.
Sample post: "Hey Asuka, ya mind helping me? My brakes are being shoddy again" The call of the local teen, one of Asuka's friends, caused her to carefully straighten up, as to not bash her head on the hood of the car she was working on.
"Jeez, you guys seem to like overloading me. I'm leaving today, and I've got several jobs to finish" The red head said, rolling her eyes somewhat. Her friend grinned awkwardly, and she laughed "Relax eejit. I'm just teasing" Asuka said with a grin.
"You had me worried. So how long til you leave?" He asked, and the red haired girl sighed.
"Kyoji, don't ask questions like that. They remind me that I won't see you guys untill the end of the year." Asuka said, then "By the way, in case Dai isn't back by the time my ride arrives, let him know that his sparkplug is dead, and that he needs to look after his engine more carefully. Also let Haruto know that the treads on his tyres are wrecked" She said, then looked at the car Kyoji had driven up. "If dad hadn't have died, I could do the replacements here, but we're low on parts, and Mom won't order more so..."
Then she opened the hood, and groaned.
"It's no wonder. You're nearly out of brake fluid. Either you've worn out the line, or you've been being haphazard again. By the way, you're trying to make this engine go too hard. It's meant to be fast for short stretches, and slower for long. And you shouldn't drive it as much, or you'll wear everything out. Your engine's tired, and it needs a repair, and a break. After that, well..."
The sound of a car horn interupted the girl, and she sighed. "There's my ride. See you guys on the flip side?"
Kyoji put his arms around the girl and smiled sadly
"See you at the end of the year. Good luck."
"Don't get in too much trouble while I'm gone" She said, and began to walk back to the house, slipping the overalls off as she did. It wouldn't do for her to arrive at St Lilum wearing greasy overalls...
