Appearance:
Katsumi is of a slender and lithe body type with a pale, almost translucent complexion. She always wears a thick leather bracelet on her left wrist.

Eye color: Blue
Height: 5’ 5”
Dress: Traditional Lulim dress. Outside of school she wears dark colors with at least one article of clothing black.

Personality: Katsumi’s personality is surprisingly light after the events of her past. From the outside she appears aloof and solitary but in truth she is gentle and friendly. A definite people pleaser, she tries to avoid conflict as much as possible and runs away and ignores problems rather than facing them head on. In the company of others she is usually very cheerful but when she is alone she is dripped by depression and fear. There is no comfort within dreaming for her as she is plagued by never ending nightmares. Due to the night terrors she has developed insomnia and spends most of her nights reading in a well lit room. An avid party girl, she tends to go out a lot and stays out most nights for long hours. Along with partying she has an intense love for music and dancing as it offers a temporary escape from her reality. Excessive funds allow for her lavish spending habits and party lifestyle. She has an extreme distrust of people, but as not to offend she keeps an illusion of trusting everyone and being open though deep down she never expects anything from them. Love is something she has always craved for, someone to take care and love her as much as she needs; those people she clings to and tries to keep them as happy as possible even if it comes at a cost of her own.
View of the Etoiles: Katsumi greatly respects the position of the Etoiles and admires the girls that take up the prestigious title. She thinks that Etoiles are wonderful and caring with the three schools best interest at heart.
View of other schools: She loves all of the schools and doesn’t understand the competitiveness of some of the girls of other schools. Rivalry just isn’t something she’s suited for she’s decided.
History: At the age of seven, Katsumi awoke one autumn night to the sound of her mother’s screams. Upon entering the living room, she found her mother lying motionless in a pool of blood. She tore her eyes up from the awful sight just in time to witness a masked man put a bullet through her father’s head. Her own piercing scream was cut short by a second man clamping a beefy hand to her mouth and pressing a sharp blade to her throat. Police sirens sounded just as the man began to slide the knife across. She was rushed to the hospital and survived, though a faint scar reminds her every day of what happened and the two men were never captured.
After being released from the hospital, she was shipped off to live with her aloof uncle, a CEO of a powerful banking corporation that had never intended on having children of his own much less caring for the traumatized daughter of a brother he hadn’t spoken to in years. Her own parents had been extremely wealthy and had left her an exuberant inheritance and her uncle threw large sums of money at her to keep her quiet and out of his way. He had always found his niece to be a nuisance and had no time to spend with her.
After four years of constant night terrors and life in a loveless house, Katsumi attempted to end her life slicing her left wrist with a razorblade. The sight of her blood bubbling up through her self-inflected slash sent her into a flashback of the night her parents were murdered. Incoherent and panicked she stumbled into her uncle’s room; he took one look, sighed heavily and calmly called for an ambulance.
That incident caused her to be placed to be placed in a psych ward to watch her behaviors. While she never reverted to self-mutilation, the doctors were never able to end the night terrors that plagued her. A year of observation later she was sent back to her uncle who promptly sent her to attend St. Lulim Girls School. He bought her an apartment and deposits a hefty weekly allowance in exchange for never darkening his doorstep ever again. When anyone asks about her past, she lies and tells them a fake history, one she dreams was real, and hasn’t opened up to a single person about the true events of her life.
Sample post:
It was another lonely, sleep forgone night. All the lights in the apartment were on fighting back the encroaching darkness, a small spec of radiance against the night. Rain pelted softly against the windowpane of Katsumi’s reading room, replacing the silence with a depressing melody. The room was comfortably warm and smelled pleasantly of vanilla bean; packed bookshelves lined it from floor to ceiling except the wall opposite the window where the only furnishing, a plush black leather sofa, was placed. A short stack of books of varying thickness and genre lay piled on one end ofit where they had been for the past two weeks slowly dwindling as many of the preceding ones were read and replaced onto a shelf.
Sprawled out upon the other end of the couch was Katsumi, looking very much like she had just arrived home from the city rather than having woken up from yet another nightmare. The bridge of her nose pinched between her thumb and forefinger, she closed her eyes with a sigh and sank into the slightly worn leather.
A thin book dangled loosely from her other hand, fingers placed carefully between the pages to keep place. More than anything, she wished for one night of peaceful slumber. Just one… was that too much to ask for? Groaning, she sat up and after making a mental note of the page number shut the book placing it by her side. A blue cup of mahogany colored coffee sat on the floor beside her feet. Gingerly she reached down to pick it up and brought the cup to her lips, wincing at the taste of the lukewarm contents.
She settled back and stared unseeingly out the dark window. Another unpleasant face came with another sip of bitter coffee as she wondered why she didn’t just pour a new cup. Three sips later and she decided she should. Four sips later and she still hadn’t moved still listening to the soundtrack of the rain and caught up in her thoughts of what an awful taste lingered on her tongue. Sip. Yes, it was just another usual lonely, sleep forgone night.
