Name: Shiori Kiryu *ichigo*
Gender: female
Age: 16
Year in school: Fifth year
School Attending: St. Lulim Girls School
Partner: None (yet ^.~)
Roommate: Akimitsu Kyoko
Appearance: Shiori is definitely on the taller side as far as her height goes. She has pale, porcelain-like skin and eerie "red" eyes. She has dark purple hair, that is very long and choppy, with bangs that fall just above her eyes.
Hair color: deep violet
Hair style: She has very long hair, and normally wears it in two pigtails atop her head. However, she has been known to leave it loose when she's feeling lazy (which happens quite often). She also tends to curl her hair if she needs to attend some sort of formal event.
Eye color: Her true eye color is a light chocolate brown, but her contacts make her eyes appear to have a reddish-pink hue.
Height: 5'8
Dress: During school hours, she wears the Lulim uniform. Outside of school, she can usually be seen with clothing that resembles a mix of punk and Gothic Lolita. She often wears corsets, lace, skirts, heeled boots, and leather clothing. When the weather is cooler, she is almost never seen without her favorite cropped leather jacket. Her favorite accessory (which she never removes unless she's showering or swimming) is a black choker (that somewhat resembles a dog collar) with a crescent moon shaped pendant.
Glasses: She does have glasses, but she only wears them when she's not going out, choosing instead to wear her eerie colored contacts.
Personality: Shiori is often seen as a cold, almost cruel girl due to her quiet, introverted personality. Her intense interest in anything having to do with the horror/macabre genre (particularly vampires and witchcraft) often frightens people away. However, when taking time to get to know her, most people discover that there is more to the quiet girl than meets the eye. In reality, she is not a cruel, heartless beast. Quite the contrary, actually. Shiori has a very kind heart, and is always willing to help someone in need (even if she is not particularly close to the person). She feels it is her duty in life to be the protector of those she has come to care for, and will go to extreme lengths to fulfill that duty. She places a very high value on friendship and relationships. Even though she is very into the horror genre, she is a sucker for romance as well.
View of the Etoiles: Though she has yet to meet Sado and Kitsuki, she holds both girls in the highest esteem. She has the utmost respect for them, and will happily come to their defense should anyone choose to talk down on them. She also has a bit of a puppy-dog crush on Kitsuki (As many know, Shiori's a sucker for cute, sweet, innocent girls), but doubts it will ever amount to anything.
View of other schools: She loves the uniforms of St. Miator, and the prowess of St. Spica, but prefers the relaxed atmosphere of St. Lulim. She thinks the rivalry between the other two schools is silly, and that is part of the reason she opted to be in Lulim instead.
History: As a child, Shiori was very lonely. Her parents were murdered when she was only three years old, and she had been bouncing from foster home to foster home ever since. It wasn't until she reached the age of 12 that she finally found a permanent home with a kind young woman who accepted her as she was, and encouraged her to be herself. Shiori was never one to speak, instead choosing to express her emotions through music and art. With the help of her adoptive mother, she was able to become a gifted violinist, as well as a painter and writer. Shiori's obsession with the horror/macabre genre started when she was 13 (after reading the works of Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe). Her intense curiosity led her to dive deeper into the world of horror, and she became engulfed in her love of monsters. One particular creature she focused on was the vampire. The vampire's elegance and strength were so enticing, she strived to be as vampire-like as she possibly could (while still maintaining her sanity, of course). This is the main reason behind her clothing style. However, this sudden interest in the darker elements did not go over well with her peers. Many of them (who had already been wary of her to begin with) began to drift even further away, some even going as far as to call her a "freak" and a "monster". Shiori was hurt by this, but continued to try and make friends. When she was 15 years old, another tragedy struck. Her best (and only) friend was killed in a car accident, leaving Shiori broken inside. She felt it was her fault, and hated herself for letting it happen. From then on, she vowed to protect the ones she loved, even if it cost her own life. However, the loss of her friend also resulted in her withdrawing herself even further. This withdrawal continued until she reached the age of 16, when her adoptive mother decided to send her to Astraea Hill, in hopes that being in a new environment (particularly the lighthearted environment of Lulim) would help her come out of her shell.
Sample post: Ruby red eyes stared blankly out the car window, silently observing the star-filled sky. Shiori could almost hear her heart beating ferociously in her chest. A million thoughts scurried aimlessly through her mind. 'What if I don't make any friends? What if they all think I'm a freak?' She thought, biting her lip nervously. "Shiori-chan, are you okay back there?" A kind voice interrupted the violet haired girl's thoughts. The blonde haired woman she had come to know as her mother smiled at her through the rearview mirror. Shiori offered a weak smile in return. "I'm alright, Mother. You needn't worry about me." Her voice was almost monotone as she spoke, which usually indicated she wasn't being entirely truthful. Was she? No, not entirely. Though she didn't want her mother to worry about her, she was definitely worrying herself. Going to a brand new school was a scary situation, especially for someone as reserved as Shiori. To calm her nerves, the purple haired girl gently fiddled with the crescent shaped pendant on her choker, biting her lip lightly. 'I'm going to be okay... I have to do this...for Mother's sake...' She closed her eyes, sighing softly. The car continued on, slowly making the long journey to the place of Shiori's newest adventure: Astraea Hill.
