Name: Sayuri Tsuchikami
Age: 23
Which campus does she work for? Lulim
What subject does she teach?
Ecology (The inter-relationships of animals & plants, and possibly a bit on animal biology.)
~ Appearance ~
Hair color: Again, rather alike her sisters' hair, Sayuri is a brunette, however her hair is a much more vibrant and light shade of brown, akin to a milk chocolate color, though the lighting sometimes casts intermittent tones over her hair, thanks to shadows.
Hair style: Possessing long, thick hair, Sayuri likes to keep the majority of it freely-hanging, though she ties some of the excess back into two wave-like buns either side of her head, held in place by twin pink-purple clips. She also wears a small, third clip at the front, parting her hair on the left side of her face, and is the the final piece of the more simplistic headdress set that she received from her parents.
Eye color: Just like her hair, her brown eyes are of a lighter shade compared to her sisters, and almost always expressively playful. Much hides behind her playful gaze, however, like her more contemplative self.
Height: 5'7"
What does your character usually wear to class? What does she wear outside of class?
All three sisters employ a style of Japanese oriental clothes, and Sayuri's usual attire consists of more pastel colours, quite often tones of grey and beige. She prefers the paler colours, because, in her opinion, it makes the colours of her eyes, hair, jewellery and even her make-up, stand out all that much more.
However, the pastel colours are still formed into floral patterns, as is the tradition of the Tsuchikami family. Between classwear and casualwear, her outfits do not change much, and she is well aware that her students occasionally stare just a little bit more than usual because of her particular choice of clothing.
Please describe your character's personality in at least 200 words or more:
Almost obsessed with her profession, Sayuri loves nature in and of itself. Plants, animals and everything in between - she loves watching, observing and studying into them. Because of this, she has developed a remarkably keen eye into ecology and in turn, she is rather..."pro-green" in her beliefs. And while she does inform and advise students and friends alike about these kinds of things, she will not actively push or protest about them.
Overall, she is a playful, charming woman; she loves both cracking jokes and listening to them, encouraging her students to adopt a relaxed style of learning in her classes - she finds that the less stressed they are, the easier they find the learning side of things. Positive and guiding to those who need it, she is seen to be kind and honest, though she devilishly claims that she'd be the last to admit to such. This is mostly because she is a total flirt - whilst its almost never serious, especially not when directed towards students, she has a way of loving in a very general manner, finding both humor and comfort in the reactions that her flirtatious manner brings about in people.
Amongst peers, she's a little less concerned about it, as it's all in a friendly nature, but she takes great care to restrain herself from overstepping when it comes to students - she's had problems on a few occasions, when students become a little -too- interested in her, and not what she was teaching.
As a result, she's learned things the hard way, and it's always a small worry in the back of her mind. Nevertheless, it's who she is, and she knows she could never stop herself completely. She believes wholeheartedly in all kinds of love, and her own lovelife has been wide and far. She's yet to encounter someone she could not resist, though, despite all circumstances, the kind of love she knows is out there (as Sayuri often uses as an example - her sister's past and present predicaments).
It's a desire that shapes her inner being, and sometimes, she gets the feeling that to some, it's rather obvious she's waiting for that person, that's "just-for-her".
Was your character a student at Astraea Hill before becoming a staff member?
Yes, like her sisters, Sayuri attended Astrea Hill and then chose to stay and become a sensei.
Please explain your character's history in 150 words or more:
Life as a student at Astraea: Sayuri was always that middle child, the one who seemed to be a little of each of her sisters; she loved nature, and had a wild side, but she was also responsible and studious, like her elder sister. Throughout school, she visited the greenhouse over on the Miator grounds all the time, even though she was a Lulim student. Most of the time, even though she was playful and flirty with friends, and had her fair share of crushes and lovelife problem, she stuck around her sisters.
But as she became more comfortable, she branched back out and starting maturing, and when she had to make that choice around graduation time, she decided to stay as a teacher, embracing her knowledge and passion for nature and its delicate balance.
Years since she became a member of the school staff: She's been teaching for a couple years now, and loving her job. She gets along well with students and staff alike, though she has to be careful with her flirty nature whenever the actual Sisters are about.
Sayuri helps look after a maine-coon cat, that she and her younger sister took in from one of Izanami's friends.
Her fifth year as a teacher was quite interesting, watching her sisters clamour about as one fell head over heels and the other started to branch back into the romance scene. Of course, that was the precursor to her own little scruple with love, when a fairly normal visit to the zoo turned into a charming encounter with an exotic woman - Lia Van Bloom. After a lovely bit of mischief between the two of them and a security guard who was no match for their combined charm, Sayuri was looking forward to meeting her again, which was why she became incredibly worried when the potential prospect bumped into her while she was in what would look like a rather amorous embrace with her sister - of course, it was simply two sisters enjoying their time together and working out some dance logistics for an event the other was planning, but Lia wouldn't know that. Frantically making sure that she understood, Sayuri broke her normal cool composure and was rewarded with understanding and wicked smile.
Sample post: "Okay, okay darlings, I think we'd best get back to task at hand, ne?" Chuckling still, as one of her students had innocently asked about the way in which the woman was handling the small feline in her lap, and the class had rapidly travelled into jokes about 'Miss Tsuchikami being a motherly figure', her chocolate-brown eyes twinkled with joy. Despite the off-track conversation, her students were keen to listen and take in the knowledge she was sharing about the delicate balance of cats and their feral counterparts, within Japan and on a global scale.
As they rounded off their session, another student queried where she had gotten a hold of the cat. "Well, as it happens, little Suzume is both mine, and my younger sister's new pet. We both look after her." It wasn't odd for her to share something, which one would consider somewhat personal - she was open in many ways with everyone she interacted with.
Several of the students wanted to play with the fairly young feline a little more, but the Ecology teacher shook her head gently. "Suzume has had a long day already, and I think she needs her rest. As much as she enjoyed playing with you all, she's quite tired." Almost as if the cat knew what it's owners' daughter was saying, it yawned softly and curled up on her lap. Several of the girls gasped and cooed delightfully, before shushing each other and nodding in understanding.
"That's all for today, loves. Remember, even when domesticated, they're apart of many eco-systems. And don't forget the assignment on food-chains I gave you yesterday; I'd like it to be handed in next lesson." A couple of soft groans, but they all smiled and promised they would bring the work in.
Waving them off, she could feel the soft gaze of Izanami observing her. Gathering up Suzume, she walked over and gently handed the maine-coon over to her sister, and gave her a light hug. "Look at you, with all those young girls staring at you with rapt attention. You best be on your guard, Sayu-chan~" Laughing quietly, her sister patted her on the cheek and returned the hug. After a few moments of light conversation, she wished her sister well and waved goodbye, before turning to head back towards the convent.
In the process, she almost stepped into one of her more studious pupils, barely managing to stop herself in time. The girl was of course, the one girl who was always ahead of the rest of the class, always looking for the extra information she could dredge out of her favourite teacher. With a smile, she walked with the girl, back towards the dorms, chatting amicably about cats and more, as if she were conversing with a friend rather than a student.
