Dinner time. Her timing was perfect, but that was only natural. Sure, Azu seemed a bit annoyed by Akemi's pushy attitude, but time was of the essence. She had dragged the Spican student along to her dorm so she could clean up all the mud off and look presentable. Sure, they could have gone for the down and dirty look...but this was the Etoile, they were talking about! The had to look their best. If only Akemi had a mask.
But, no time to dwell on that now. She had taken her young "protege" to the cafeteria for the big announcement. Taking the camera, she set it up to record their "stage" and record the moment for posterity. This would need to be spread around. Posted online. Maybe she could get that insufferable gossip letter to talk about their entrance into the race for Etoile. Either way, she was still enthusiastic about the whole thing.
"We should get entrance music! Gah! I need access to the intercom...this won't do..." she fretted to herself as she finished her preperations, "I'll just have to fix that in post. Are you ready for your first lesson in being Amazing!?"
She grinned to her shorter companion, before leaping on to the table of the cafeteria. It wasn't currently being occupied and was the perfect stage to get everybody's attention.

Ø why do I need anyone else when I can break the sky myself? Ø Was it already that late? Azusa hadn't realized. That might explain why her stomach was grumbling so inappropriately. It may have taken longer than intended for Azusa to make herself presentable. She had been on Astraea Hill for more than a year, and every day involved doing chores for herself that she had been used to others doing for her. Such as changing. That said, she was getting better at it and, rather than leave her room an obvious mess, she could make herself look decent. She left the Spica uniform somewhere that she would remember to wash it and changed into a white button down shirt with black trim along the collar and sleeves and black buttons, and one of her many black suspender skirts, this one a figure-fitting pencil skirt. She decided to keep the garter tights and shoes the same. As a last minute decision, she threw on a comfortable, dark purple cardigan before leaving the room.
At least she felt better now that she wasn't drenched and covered in mud. Although, having to stay in Akemi's company was doing nothing good for her current mood. Despite herself, Azusa was drawn into the older girl's rhythm. That would have to change in the future. She hurried beside - goodness new she was going to run if she had to so that she wouldn't be walking behind someone - the Miator student to the crowded cafeteria.
That was both a blessing and a curse. Azusa admitted that it was actually a rather interesting idea to make a public appearance as future Etoile candidates. After all, who else was running? She had no idea, and perhaps getting their name out there would give them an edge over the competition. That wasn't to say that she approved of Akemi's means, however. "I'm certain I don't need lessons from someone like you,"
[/b] the smaller girl huffed in response. And then, as though to prove Azusa's point, Akemi lept onto a table. The smaller girl looked up in wide-eyed, open-mouthed horror. She was speechless, and she was mortified.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] word count : 375 notes : I was originally going to have Azu climb up after her just for fun, but I'm going to wait to see how this plays out first. Those seated closer to the odd pair, had their attention snapped around at the sound Akemi's feet loudly smacking against the surface of the table. For the rest she would just have to be loud. Something she had every reason to be confident in herself.
"Hello, ladies of St. Spicaaaaaaa!" Akemi held her hands around her mouth as her voice echoed in the cafeteria, as she gathered up everyone's attention. Dropping her hands to her hips she allowed a few puzzles murmurs to raise up from the crowd.
"Now...I'm sure each and everyone of you are wondering the same thing." She grinned, "Just who is this dashing young lady standing before you? Allow me to answer your questions! I am Akemi Araceli and I am running for Etoile!"
She paced back and forth on the table, each step popping with an excited energy. "Now, it is true that, in order to properly run, I need a partner! And ever since I've arrived on this fine campus, I have been searching high and low for a suitable partner. From the Mighty St. Miator to the Lovely St. Le Rim! But, finally...my search has ended here! And it is without further ado, than allow me to introduce to you...representing the Superb St. Spica! The Wonderous Watanabe Azuuuuuuuuusssssa!"
She pointed back down to the shorter student, all in one enthusiastic gesture. She left plenty of room in the table for her to join Akemi on the impromptu stage. So far, Akemi was giving her performance a solid A Plus!

Ø why do I need anyone else when I can break the sky myself? Ø Why? Really? Just...why?
Azusa was so speechless, she couldn't even form the words in her mind. But the sound of her name - with some sort of ridiculous title in front of it- snapped her out of her daze. It was probably a terrible idea to be partnering with someone like this, someone so clearly uncultivated. But what if Akemi had decided to run with someone else and won? The thought of three such prestigious schools in the hands of someone so outrageous was horrifying.
With a small sigh, she stepped onto a chair, using it to help her climb onto the table. Although there was only a few inches of height difference, her legs were shorter and significantly less athletic than the older girl's. "I believe I told you not to use such ridiculous titles,"
[/b] she said, rather calmly for someone who was so blatantly disobeying the rules by standing on the table. However, she couldn't let herself be outshone by the Miator student. She couldn't be the one to fall into obscurity. Although these other students were obviously beneath her, Azusa decided that it was best to show them respect. After all, should she become Etoile, they would all be her followers and it would be up to her to take care of them. She bowed politely, maintaining the composure of a wealthy young lady who was doing something proper and sophisticated, showing no indication of the horror she felt at doing something so outrageous. "It's nice to meet you,"[/b] she said politely, projecting her voice loudly enough to be heard throughout the room, but not so much that she was yelling as Akemi had done. On a whim, she added, "We hope that our schools can come together to support the first inter-school Etoile candidates."[/b] The smaller of the two girls smiled around the room of her future followers. How would this play out? Would the feud between Miator and Spica work against them, or in their favor? They were both highly competitive schools, after all. "We're honored to be representing both our schools and look forward to taking care of all students equally."[/b] After all, as Etoile, her number of followers would increase greatly. A good leader treated all the people below her fairly and with a proper amount of respect.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] word count : 381 notes : Azusa's trying to be the sensible one. Who is also standing on a table. Clearly, this is effective. XD "Break the Sky" - The Hush Sound

Akemi kept grinning, even as Azu admonished her for coming up with a title. It was a work in progress, but it was better than nothing. And right now, she couldn't afford to waste time arguing on the fact, they were in the middle of the show!
"That's right! The strongest combo this campus has ever seen!" she said, "Now, and for the FIRST time! Miator meets Spica in an explosion of awesomeness!"
Feuds were fine. Actually, Akemi loved to feud with people. There was nothing like a good rivalry to really get things pumping. Which did remind her...they would have to actually know who this other pair was. They had to properly challenge them, after all.
"We won't quit until we've reached the top! Rising to meet all challengers! Your champions have the tenacity...the drive! That insatiable competitive spirit! It's time we made this a race! This is the Etoile Title! And this school deserves contest of the highest caliber!" Akemi bounded around the stoic Azusa. Seeing as how she was playing things straight-laced, Akemi knew she had to pick the energy up. If things went stagnant, now, that would just be horrible! But, she was up for the task.

Ø why do I need anyone else when I can break the sky myself? Ø Was it too late to back down now? Well, yes, apparently. Since the announcement was now very public. It seemed that she was meeting quite a few rather annoying people here at Astraea. Were these strange characters drawn to her or something? Was there someone out there putting her in frustrating situations like this for their own amusement, or something?
Azusa was trying very hard not to show the full extent of her annoyance. Not in a situation like this. A leader needed to keep her emotions in check, after all. One could not effectively lead if one's emotions were always getting in the way of proper decision-making. Although she did appreciate that Akemi was running with the idea of them being the first inter-school pair running for the position.
The smaller girl sincerely hoped that it would give them an edge, rather than hurting them. She finally took the time to stop and look the Miator student in the eye, looking up through long, dark lashes. "What the school needs is an effective leader."
[/b] She turned her attention back to the student body. "It's about time we have an Etoile who knows how to lead and can set a proper example as students who will surpass any challenges."[/b] And that responsibility would have to come down to her. Akemi was just there to fill the two person quota. But it was also true. With her innate greatness, how could she possibly lose? "Don't you think we should make our announcement official and go work on the application so that the rest of the school can know that we're running?"[/b] She started making her way back down, sitting at the edge of the table and swinging her legs over the side onto the chair.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] word count : 291 notes : I feel like there isn't really too much to do in this thread aside from Akemi being awesome and the girls announcing to Spica that they're running. XD So it sort of felt right for Azu to try to end it. Hope that's alright. "Break the Sky" - The Hush Sound

If Akemi had to give Azu credit for anything, it was her commitment to the performance. Not a single crack, or an angry outburst. Maybe this dynamic could work...with one stoic Champion and she, herself, bringing all the energy. She certainly had enough. As a matter of fact, she had enough to make up for 10 Azus.
"True leadership...from true champions!" she held her index finger up in the air, "We're here for you!"
As Azu sat down to get off the table, Akemi leaped straight down. Gathering up her camera (there was some dispute as to whether or not it was actually her's, but that was besides the point). This footage would be great. A little editing and they would be all set.
"Yes!" she concurred, "We have to apply right away! Let's hurry!"
She grabbed Azu by the hand and made a bee line for the cafeteria's exit. This was a huge check in the win column.
