A shadow followed at a angle as she walked across from the setting sun oranges and picks dancing across the floor. Shed been told to meet down town in a park, at least that was the instructions Kutsumari gave her through text. Dance shoes where bushes off by a gentle touch as Jessie sat on a bench below a giant cherry blossom tree. Touching fake brown hair fingers carefully fixed the short haired bangs making sure it was tight to her head, and no pink showed. Shed decided to reveal the truth, in the most respectful way possible.
Yet the school boy out fit was soon replaced by a more respectable outfit, for higher class. Jessie wanted to show them she could be what Alice deserved. A longer fired black jacket with a high color covered her torso. Pink ribbon lined the collar and went down at an angle then straight down the rest of the jack. While black fitted slicks held to her legs allowing a pink cuff be a the ends.
She held a photo book in hand as she waited for the arrival of Kutsumari. Her breathing was uneasy and her heart pounded faster and faster as fingers gripped the edges of the book in hand. Closing her eyes she didn't allow the dampness she could feel turn into tears of fear. Taking a long slow breath that fully filled her lungs she carefully let it slide between quivering lips . " I need to be strong...for her. "
Standing tall she opened fake brown eyes to see a limo pull up eyes no longer wavering as she held the special book to her side neatly tucked between arm and hip. Carefully Jessie watched as the black limo door open.

Alice had been none the wiser about the meeting. Kutsumari had left her only with her usual smirk and a teasing jibe. The black widow was far from smirking at the moment. With her signature twin-tails shaped into their typical spiraling drill-shapes, the rest had been styled to frame the pale face that now sported a bit of a scowl. A black Lolita dress adorned by a frilled black petticoat and cutsew decorated by dark frills and a silk black bow high on the chest. It looked like the monochrome shadow opposite of the dresses Alice would wear; ironically enough, this black dress had been sewn by the spider herself as a begrudging gift to the rival black widow long ago. A pair of designer silk stockings sporting a cobweb pattern and two silk bows for a dress. Had Kutsumari been in any of a better mood, she would have laughed a little at the random thought of that past exchange.
Once again Jessie had taken to her disguise. It was almost uncanny how much she resembled a male while in costume, yet Kutsumari had no trouble recognizing her presently. No, for she had other things on her mind. so when she arrived, her words were not of greeting nor or reassurance. It was a simple, yet a bit hesitant, "Ready?"
She wasn't sure if this meeting would be a hospitable one, and was sure Jessie was nervous, but in times like this one needed to be brave, confident, and relaxed. Which the pink haired tomboy seemed to be; the black widow wished to be sure. She knew very little of this girl, but knew enough to know that even though she was a bit of a nervous soul, she was strong, especially when it came to standing up for herself or Alice dearest or for what she believed. Scarlet orbs shimmered with a bit of an unreadable expression under the shadowy cat's straight-cut bangs as she waited for any form of response.

Ready was she ?
She wasnt sure all she could do is step forward, knowing their must be a driver she gave a slight bow taking lightly the blackened windows hand letting a light peck of the lips fal onto it before she stood tall once more. Walking past the girl to the Limo she carefully climbed in she thought of saying something but if she did now her voice may crack slightly releasing her nerves. Scooting in she looked around noting that the darkened window that separated them from the diver was closed she took a breath. watching as the young woman follow suit entering the limo she spoke out. " I am glad it was you who came to take me...thank you..."
She had to thank Kustumari ..after all she maybe the only ally she had. Hearing the shutting of the blackened vehicle's door she only looked down at her lap which now held the leathered book, a bell that was the twin of the one she gave Alice hung from a golden spine of a leather book. The cover a simple deep reddish brown leather with golden thread hooked in to make out words 'Il n'y a pas de mots' ( There are no words ). This was to be Alice's real birthday gift, yet was brought along in hopes to be yet another ally a way to show how much she cared for the girl it was made for. Though a worry set in would that girl want anything to do with her once she found out Jessie had gone behind her back to the meeting.
She could feel as they went into motion and thought of speaking to the back cat beside her her eyes even glanced over to the girl, but sighing she looked back to her lap after all she couldnt very well see out the tinted windows. Though speaking now...she didn't know what to say she thought about asking the other if she had any idea of what might happen or maybe she could ask what to do to have Alice forgive her. Yet none of those seemed quite right.
As they got closer to the Himino manion the more she had to regain her bravery, that might be harder said then done...but with her fathers held she'd gotten good at at least faking it a tad bit. But that did have a few words finally leave shut lips they came out quite almost not at all...and yet they did enter the air quitely.
" Is it alright to be scared..."
Her voice came out low as to sound more mae but still hed its gentle tone.

Kutsumari didn't react much to the kiss on the hand. Rather, she couldn't. Her mind was too cluttered; her own shadow web spun too tightly around the posts of her flurrying thoughts. Any time one managed to free itself from the gaps in the web like an insect, another would bunch up to take its place, thrashing around in the metaphorical web of thoughts. Frills pooled about the dainty black widow's knees as she slid into the limo and assumed a proper sitting posture.
The words of gratitude were not excprcted, but were received by a nod of acknowledgment. "Of course." She answered back. She felt like she was whispering, perhaps her thoughts were too loud in her mind. She wouldn't let Jessie go alone or face the seemingly angry Himeno family without a familiar face to help reassure her. Additionally, if Alice couldn't be there, then she would for her sake. Even if that meant facing the snow queen's wrath later. The same occasional wrath she had encountered in her years of constantly plotting death wishes with her schemes pointed towards her snow-white rival. It wouldn't affect her much - she still had to keep her act up as rival -- though would Jessie be able to take it if Alice turned her possible aggression on her? Kutsumari didn't want to think of it.
She's noticed the decorated album when the limo pulled out and began to drive away. It was well decorated and sported words in a language she could not translate. A photo album most likely. The familiar bell was peculiar. Was Jessie perhaps going to use this to help? It was thoughtful, and pictures did speak a thousand words. Through the long silence, Kutsumari wondered if Jessie was nervous, which she probably entirely was, and to what extent? The black widow herself could feel nervousness of her own prickling at her skin. She was almost relieved when words were finally spoken.
"Is it aright to be scared..."
Those words made Kutsumari retreat from her thoughts, She looked to Jessie a little, the large twin drills of hair billowing with the movement. "Of course it is...." She tried to respond confidently in her childish voice. A breath was let out gently; one she hadn't none she had been holding. "Anyone would be frightened in this situation...." Even the white widow herself would be caught at unease if allowed.

Jessie sat in silence for a moment; was it really true that anyone would be scared? she wondered but soon thought better at thinking such things as it might just add stress. a hand left its place on the book and glided slowly to the other's hand. Jessie could only hold her hand out, in hopes the other would be so kind as to take hers. the pink haired girl knew the two girls weren't necessarily the best of friends but by now or at least the connection of caring for Alice she thought of the black cat as one.
As she waited in an almost impatent fear of her hand not being taken her gaze finally left her lap. sunset eyes found their way to the dimmed window, right now it reminded her of her feelings of her thoughts ...yes it was all dimmed. Taking a shallow breath in she thought of a plan..which now that she began to think of one she realized it was as un thought of as the idea to go to the meeting with victor as a male was. The tomboy knew they were expecting a male..and so therefore that's how'd she present herself at first. This is where she got worried, all night she figured shed rip away the wig and explain everything bowing to hold the very ground in front of them if needed to apologize , shed brought the book to show them and give them examples to how she loved their daughter and why... but was that really the best way and was that really the right message.
Of course she loved alice but this was more then that... knew thoughts flooding in but it was to late as the limo now slowed to a stop she gripped her book and another thing? it was soft ..out of the corner of her eyes she could see it was Kutsumari's hand. Giving a slight smile she nodded her thanks. Stepping out with the girl she took a moment closed her eyes and thought one thought.
' No matter what i will brake the chains that hold her....even.."
She shook the last part away as she opened fake brown eyes to stair at the huge doors infront of her.
( Sorry for the power play and the rush to the home just didnt want to make the drive to long )

Something flickered out of the corner of her eye, and the black widow looked over to meet Jessie's hand with her gaze. At first, she just stared, her subdued expression being one of contemplation. She wondered what was on the pink haired girl's mind. Was she relatively calm? Was there a storm of emotions flurrying behind those sunset eyes? Kutsumari couldn't tell. She wondered what the girl's plan was. Surely, she would reveal herself, but...what then? How would the Himeno parents respond? Her dearest Alice not following aristocratic etiquette would certainly anger them, if not follow up with consequences or punishments. And Jessie being the one their daughter pledged herself to tight now, their anger would be directed at the tomboy at first. Perhaps even the black cat too, if Victoir had told them that much. She wondered what her rule-born cousin thought of all this. His temper could always get the best of him; he had a bad habit of letting to glare up unintentionally beyond his control, as he had slapped Kutsumari at the previous encounter; but perhaps he would sit quietly and merely watch now. Yes, he would be there as well. The lord and mistress - the black widow's parents- of the rival household might be there too... The thought stirred a sickening worry in the pit of her stomach. She had taken Jessie's hand in the midst of it.
When they stepped out together, the limo pulled away, leaving the two in the wake of the white gothic-styled mansion. Everything looked the same as when the Himeno family had first called to meet Jessie-- the greenery, the glistening white manor itself, the exhibition of white roses in the heart of the entry courtyard and the planter of pure white lilies near the front -- yet there was a slight tension in the air - at least to Kutsumari, there was. She unconsciously held on to the pink haired girl's hand a little tighter. It wasn't in the right mood to think of such a thing, but she always thought the large manor would be grand at Halloween, should the Himeno lineage ever catered to the holiday.
It didn't take long for the ornate doors to swing open, seemingly almost by themselves, with the effort of two maids within. The head maid from the previous visit, Charlotte, was there to greet the two with a formal bow while two flanking taller ones just observed from further in. Kutsumari thanked the maid in French and lead Jessie instead, the drill-like structures of her black twin-tails swaying with a flurry of black lace with each step she took. She knew were to go, knew the manor like the back of her own hand. A few designated maids scurried after them. The Himeno family always held any sort of formal conference in the great hall, as they called it. She gracefully zig-zagged through a sunroom and a brightly lit corridor, the maids opening the doors for them as they proceeded. When the large designated door was reached. She gave a momentary pause to glance up at Jessie.
"Il est normal d'avoir peur..." It was spoken in French, but it'a message was one of reassurance, for it was "it is normal to be afraid.
That was all she said before Charlette and another maid pushed open the large doors. A spacious room was unfurled. Large white columns with sculptings of what appeared to be a bushel of roses on the tops and bottoms held up the high rectangular ceiling. The old-French century styled room was decorated by large vases of the family's renown white roses and ferns and silk tapestries from France while old paintings of beautiful white horses colored the elegant walls. Much like the ballroom, a large silver chandelier in a branching conical shape dangled from the high ceiling. Two long chains of tables lines the floor and one was positioned horizontally at the front, where the Himeno parents dressed in white sat along with their Kakura household rivals dressed in black as well as Victoir at the end. A vase of white Camellia flowers decorated the Kakura side while one of white roses rivaled it on the Himeno side. Above them, a portrait of the influencial Himeno family hung, sporting a serious tone and looking almost too professional. The snowy spider, ten at the time, looked grim and iced over in the large image, but her frosty beauty had already began to blossom even at the early age.
The maids gave a bow and the large doors closed shut in sync behind them. Kutsumari let go of Jessie's hand and gave an elegant, low curtesy. She offered one more furtive glance at the pink haired girl, trying to express a "good luck" through her unguarded scarlet eyes before almost stiffly gliding off to take her place beside her slightly bitter-looking mother. The Himeno mistress adjusted a long strand of snow-white hair as she glanced up finally, not recognizing the disguised girl. An authentic furred open scarf of the same ivory color as her albinism fluttered about her shoulders and torso when she moved. Her husband sat with a similar rigid posture beside her, watching and analyzing, his black hair and small moustache an almost humorous contrast to his wife's pure albino appearance. Clearing his throat, he motioned for his wife to begin.
"Mr. Darien McKnight, I presume?" The mature yet quiet voice echoed softly off the spacious walls.
(That's alright~ And sorry for this for being so long. Got a bit too into the flow of writing for a moment, haha. )

Walking through the halls of the household was daunting yet in some ways helpful it gave more time to think. Luckily she had Kustumari to lead her or else she'd be lost already. Two maids scurried beside them a slightly lagging behind, seems Kustumari had the quick paced step just as Alice did. That and she new very well where they were going.
As another set of doors where open she barely heard the words that left the others lips, it must be something to help her since shed been studying French to give her a leg up for when Alice started to teach her she could make out the words no... And afraid.. The rest she could make out. Yet though few words some how eased her mind..at least a little. Walking into the center of the room she could feel the little warmth of the others hand slip away the tomboys own hand gripped tight to her side as she looked at the row of people before her she felt small in this room and her eyes burt in the want to release tears.
Fighting the urge to not shake she saw kutsumari quick look of luck as she joined her family. " looking to the Himino family mainly the picture above she held the book tight ; for it was the only Ally next to her.
Mr Darien McKnight I presume?
Those words almost caught her off guard...was this how her father felt in court, the thought caused her to shake slightly...she hadn't realized it but she looked just like him..her heart tightened... Don't freak out now not yet...not here...
Her eyes left the photo to find there way first to Alice's mother then father. What shall be my answer she thought...if I put it off i won't ever do it...
" N-No.. Sir.. That "
Her voice shook . " That is was my father's name... And I.. "
Taking a breath shed go with the least planned part of her plan...sadly.
Kneeling to the floor she felt hand if she was begging for her life. Bending over she carefully set the book beside her as palms met and her forehead lay on them she took an apologetic lowered stance. " And I must Apologize for I have lied to such a regal and once before kind family to me... "
Slowly she stood from her kneeled position " I am Jessica Ara Mcknight.. I can never ask you to forgive me but at the very least I ask that you hear me out...please. "
Once more she bowed yet as she did she rose a hand to take out two brown colored contacts they fell from her fingers like tear drops as both hands gripped the back of the brown wig rising up pink hair fell from the wig cap as she let it drop.Rose pink hair fluttered around her dancing across her back as sunset eyes peered at the audience before her. She still shook in fear but looked determined in a way looking just as her mother did this was a new kind of confidence one that showed she was scared but would still stand " I shall wait for your response I am sure you are not only surprised but angry. ..but I do..i do have something for you to look at ... "

Ghostly blue and brown eyes were trained on the girl as she began her speech. The two rival families watched like a row of birds; a flock of black-clad crows on the right and white doves on the left. All scrutinizing the figure in the center of the room. One moment the young man was apologizing, and the next, suddenly, a girl crowned by pink hair was revealed. The members of the Kakura household, all except for the black widow, stiffened slightly in surprise. Victoir's eyes widened at the sight, yet he made no verbal comment. He felt shocked, a little bit disgusted and confused, and perhaps even slightly indirectly belittled. So Alice...Chantal, as he refereed to her as...was attracted to another girl? Both the Himeno parents only seemed to straight their postures, their noble expressions both sporting that of recognition.
There was an almost tense silence that invaded the room next. More so on the Kakura side than the Himeno portion. Alice's mother adjusted her scarf, never breaking her proper posture. She wondered if perhaps this would be the outcome of their partnership since she had seen how the two danced; even how her daughter interacted with the pink haired tomboy. Although her lips were set in a hard line, her ice-colored eyes were painted with the same warmth which they held when she first met the girl. Her husband, on the other hand, just stared quietly, his dark eyes a bit wide in the wake of the surprise. Was their daughter...not interested in men? No, no, that couldn't be. This had to be just an experiment. Just an act of defiance against them. Even after being conditioned and raised under the mannerisms and etiquette of the Himeno ways, Alice still was an unruly soul and was prone to go against rules. this had to be just one of those unruly tendencies of hers. Yes... That had to be it...
Beside them, the Kakura household grimaced. Was this just some kind of joke? What kind of representation of the Himeno household was this? The lord of the Kakura household began to rise, earning an unnoticed disapproving look from Kutsumari. He was looking at Jessie although his words were aimed at the lord of the Himeno manor.
"What is this? Lord and lady Himeno, I-"
The Himeno lord had gathered himself and held up a hand to silence him. The man eased himself back down into his seat with a grumble. "Let miss McKnight continue first, if you please, lord Kakura." He looked to Jessie, hesitating for a moment. She really was a striking resemblance to her mother... "Please, if you will, continue."
His wife sat silently on the matter for the moment. It wasn't noticeable, but Kutsumari was biting her bottom lip a little trying not to worry. Her poker face was skilled, but not enough to hide the occasional cracks.

when the other male stood up she stepped back, she still didn't like the idea of so many men now possibly judging her. Mr. Himino the one man that knew her mother before her father was allowing her to go on, to speak her thoughts give them a reason. Sunset eyes that were focused to the shine of the floor lifted to look the group of mixed eyes. she didn't look at victors. Her knees shook as she took a few steps, her eyes took a moment to glide back to look at the family photo and her steps turned into elegant strides as she carefully placed the leather book down mainly in front of the Himino family but Kustumari's family could see it as well.
Taking a breath in her hand fell to the leather books cover as fingers glided to the edge it caused the small bell to jingle , bring a slight smile to now calm features. " This book i made for Alice's birthday, as you may well know i am no good with my words, i act on action and even then i tend to mess up. Yet as you look at this.. i have to give you a few words to think on... Thanks to Alice .. i have become braver she melted my fear even slightly , and for that i care about her. Yet i feel she has changed as well... and it isn't because of me...she may say it is..but i think it is herself ...she allowed herself to be open to learn and let someone learn about her...she melted her own ice.."
Clearing her throat she gracefully took Ms. Himino's hand lowering it to the cover of the book " Look at your family Photo at your little girl..then open this book"
Stepping away Jessie watched the group in front of her.
Inside there was the first photo was of Aice standing in her usual stance waiting for Jessie at their second dance rehearsal as pages would be turned it would be a photo of Alice singing on the edge of the stage. the next is them at the fair with cotton candy whiskers and beard the other would be Alice sitting on Jesse's bike at the beach. There was even one of them on the roller coaster leaning into one another as they road through the last drop. few that followed were a few secretly taken one of Alice dancing to her own melody.

The Himeno parents recomposed themselves as they listened while the Kakura family, save for Kutsumari respectfully, still appeared dissatisfied. So Alice had helped this girl become more confident, and in turn melted her own ice, whether with knowledge or that or not herself. Alice's mother was deep in her thoughts as her hand was placed on the cover. She glanced up at the formal portrait, focusing on her daughter. The layer of ice encasing her being; the monotonous malice of her frosted eyes and the grim, detached look of her visage. She wore the same face every year, every portrait and moment unless just the slightest amount of emotion was needed to be displayed. She had became so closed-off and frozen over as the years went on. Her parents didn't think anyone could ever get through that impenetrable guard. Yet, this girl... This one single girl from Astrea... Her mother shifted her glance from the portrait and refocused it back on the cover of the album. With only a slight moment of hesitation, she flipped it open with one graceful arc of a wrist.
The photos inside surprised the Himeno parents, as they soon did to the Kakura family. It was like a timeline. Each photo, Alice seemed more open; free. That metaphorical ice had been melted little by little with each photographed memory. The albino woman couldn't help but smile a little at the picture of the two girls at the fair. It was almost barely noticeable - so much so that it could have been passed off as a trick of the light - but she noticed Alice was smiling in that picture. An ivory finger ever so lightly skimmed over her daughter in the picture. From the Kakura side, Kutsumari smiled a little.
"Alice, though dear to us, is a defiant girl... She has an unsavory streak to her which we hoped to correct, but she still is not too fashioned on following rules, no matter what the subject matter be." The Himeno mistress took in a hesitant breath and looked up at the pink haired tomboy. Her face held a serious look, but her voice mirrored that of a kind mother. "I'm just not sure if..." She looked back down at the photo album, staring at her daughter's expressions in the photos. "...I cannot validate that what you two feel for each other...what she might feel for you is...well, true."
The dainty lady of the rival household next cleared her throat. A cool, mature voice drifted out, "It is probably nothing more than something to occupy herself with -- at girl's schools sometimes these kind of things happen. In the absence of males, girls will often form brief relationships with other girl's to fill that void. It is usually nothing serious."
With the Kakura mistress's words adrift, all but Alice's mother looked to Jessie once more. Kutsumari wished to indirectly counter the points made, but it was not her place to speak, and she just sat quietly beside her mother, adjusting a drill-shaped tail of hair.

Alice's mother at least saw what Jessie hopped she would and that was enough for Jessie. Hearing both mothers respectable responses and opinions Jessie bowed slightly. Rising she parted lips only for them to close again. She thought for a moment, even though her heart was hurting now she decided to say what was right...weather it later meant shed loose Alice. Parti g lips again her voice came out gentle no sign of defiance nor of sorrow but truth. " I will not protest...i will no longer fight...i am not giving... But you were able to see what I saw... A young girl finally living, being free from chains shed frozen over. My point of coming was originally to tell you that I love you daughter..and I do.."
" but "
Pink bangs feathered across watering eyes as she continued to speak hiding them from curious eyes of the adults before her. " But I have changed my tactics, I just will simply ask...that you leave your daughter be to make her own choices... To unchain her from a marriage she wishes not to have.. To let her find her own love.. Weather it be me or someone else... I believe that what any of you should do is spend time with one another...just have fun...be a family.. Do not burden your children with problems that started far before them. "
Taking a breath she calmed her once again shaking body " All I ask ... Is to allow your daughter to be a 13 year old... With nothing to hold her back... Nothing to loose...by having you both be a friend before a boss.... "

Call off the marriage. Loosen the chains of tradition on the snowy girl. It was like asking to abandoned tradition completely. Both households were silent, processing the information. It was a while before the Himeno mistress looked up from the picture. Her ghostly blue eyes flashed with an unreadable emotion.
"Tradition cannot be abandoned so easily, miss Mcknight." She spoke softly with a voice as light as falling snow. A hazy evening flare of light from the window shimmered over her white hair as she shifted her stiff posture, "Alice was bound to this marriage since birth. So was master Victoir of the Kakura household.... It was and still is a binding agreement."
She sounded a bit hesitant at her own words.
"And if broken, it shall be seen as an act of defiance and rejection of the treaty." The lord of the Kakura household chimed in.
Once more, the Himeno lord held up a hand to call him to silence before his temper could flare. The man only looked at his French rival. "You should be more mindful of daughter, lord Himeno, unless you didn't car--"
"Ça suffit." (That's enough.)
The Kakura lord sat back down in irritation at the interjection, having been reminded that he had spoken out of turn. Looking to his snowy wife, he let out a heavy breath. "We are gracious for your attendance, lord, lady, and master and mistress of the Kakura household, but may we ask to speak to miss Mcknight here alone for a little while. I think an individual discussion is needed."
Kutsumari's father thought for a moment, looking at Jessie then at Victoir. "Fine..." He sighed. "We shall discuss this matter later, if you please." Ushering his family to stand, he gave a formal bow to the Himeno family as did his wife, Victoir, and Kutsumari, then to Jessie to whom the Kakura father directed a disapproving look. Kutsumari offered a faint reassuring smile at the pink haired tomboy as she elegantly exited with her family. The room was quiet again. Only the Himeno parents and Jessie remained. Closing the photo album finally, the Himeno mistress offered it back to Jessie while the lord cleared his throat once again.
"Miss Mcknight." He began. "As my wife has mentioned, we feel that what you two share right now -- it is just a brief phase; an experiment, if you may. Potentially nothing serious... Though it does lead me to the curiosity. You have stated that you love our daughter, and I implore to ask if she feels the same? Not in defiance of us, but genuinely?" He folded his hands on top of the table. "As for loosening her chains, it is difficult to sever tradition, you know. We as the Himeno lineage have a reputation to uphold, and while that may seem irrelevant, it is prominent to our standing and lineage in itself... If she were to walk her own path like the ancestral woman of the Himeno line of which she is heading down, well... it would spell a viewing of corruption that we three might not be able to pull ourselves from this time. It might sound selfish, but please know, that it is far from that..."

She didn't look in the eyes of the passing family as they walked past. She waited till she could hear the echo of large doors closing a almost sigh of relieve was let out as the doors shut, yet she had to think for a moment ...she had asked to much...or rather asked in the wrong way... She was careful to listen to what was spoken. Both father and mother seemed to truly care about their daughter.
Jessie had to throw out another tactic she had to stop thinking of every family like her own. Soon the mans words eased into silence. She nodded her head into yet another bow of apology. " I did not mean to miss step my bounds and I believe that I miss spoke or rather I didn't think before acting, once again. "
She seemed not comfortable in the new circumstances but rather she felt as though they would both listen to one another better now with out prying eyes of a rival family. " I may have let my own memories of tradition and forceful tactics of a father cloud my mind... I did not mean you fully let Alice do what ever... Every girl needs a guiding hand ... But I just feel, forcing her into a marriage that is unknown to the girl that it is about isn't the way... If you want Alice to grow up to be the wonderful young woman your guiding hand should not cover her up...but rather take hold of her hand and learn together.."
Stepping close to the table again she took hold of the book again . " your daughters happiness didn't come from me forcing her... It came from us working together. Thats all I meant.. "
Taking in a breath she looked into the eyes of the mother and the father. " I truly do care and love Alice.. Truthfully I can only hope she fully feels the same ..Ms. Mr . Himeno I have no family here... No mother no father, no one to guide me... No one to tell me its going to be alright no one to tell me to clean my room or protect me.. But I do have Alice ...and for that reason I do not want the only friend the only family I ha e gained to be lost to me because of rules neither I nor possibly her understand or agree with..."
Damn...tears managed to slide down cheeks as she stepped away from the table. " I respect you both and I can't truly change your mind... But all I ask..is at the very least dont force her to marry... Even ...even if "
She swallowed hard. " even if that means I must let go of her... At least let it be by my own hand rather then yours.. "

A guiding hand to work together instead of to force. Tradition could be both, if involved neutrally, but Himeno tradition was a bit more on the forceful side. Astrea had been forced. The engagement had been forced. All the lessons in mannerisms, etiquette, dance and musical arts had been forced. Alice hadn't exactly gotten a say in too much of her life so far. Neither had many of the Himeno ancestors. Shigeki had been the one to carve her own path and break away from it, and Alice was starting to repeat that. It would have generated far less worry if Shigeki's stepping out-of-line had not sparked controversy among how many soon afterwards viewed the Himeno lineage. Both the Himeno parents allowed themselves to think for a moment.
What surprised them most was what the girl said next. About having no true family of her own here. And of Alice being what they concluded the closest thing to one this girl had. The Himeno family weren't heartless, and both felt slightly guilty at the sight of the tomboy's tears, though they tried to keep professional. It was the father that spoke a few moments after she had finished, "We respect your statements, miss Mcknight, and shall think on them presently. It is wrong to force marriage on someone, especially your own children, but a marriage such as this would have rose to the occasion sooner or later. It was to have befallen the late Shigeki Himeno, of whom I am sure you are familiar Alice shares part of her name from, but Shigeki, being the independent authoritative woman she was, walked out on her duty, and thus only succeeding in pushing the inevitable down the line. This duty has fallen onto Alice, being the only female representative of the lineage's current generation. It not only respects tradition, but it is part of the treaty our family never got to finish with the rival Kakura household because of Shigeki's defiance to the system. If Alice were to deny or turn down the planned engagement, it would only strain this further..."
The Himeno lord drew in an exhausted breath. He didn't realize he had spoken so much. His wife sat with slightly different views which she voiced after a ghost of a weary sigh, "Miss Mcknight, dear, I appreciate your caring towards our daughter as well as your aim to free her from tradition. I cannot say that it is honestly possible, but perhaps, at least I, will think about it in consideration..."
Her husband gave offered her kind of a bewildered glance. The snowy woman commented no further on the matter. She arched her back in her chair as to not sacrifice elegance while taking off the strain on her spine. The Himeno mother for now had decided to meditate on the girl's words, although her father still remained in slight opposition. What were they to do?

It seemed to be a loosing battle, one of which neither side would win, they all seemed tired, unsure and almost saddened. Quivering lips were bite tightly the taste of blood entered her lips. Tradition..she was starting to hate the word as much as she once hated the man she called father. Yet she needed to keep level headed. " Were to young. We let our emotions get the better of us.. "
Her words faint and a bit cold. " Were to young to truly understand. And usual blind to compromise...but.."
She looked up at the two before her eyes now puffy but a serious narrow geld to them..yet her voice sounded calm and gentle almost kind and understanding. " Why not.... Test us... Give us a year... To prove...our love is real. Call Alice go and get her...let us rest tonight catch her up and determine a test.. For us both. It isn't fair for Alice to burden a thing like this alone...so make a test for me as well. So that at least this time she won't suffer alone.."
That is ..if Alice even still wanted anything to do with her after all this... Her heart aches and body felt tired. " Lets ...just get Alice home..so she's not hidden in the shadows on this as well...no more secrets.."
A yawn forced its way out. She hated she acted so childish even now. I just want to see her...even if she hates me...
