Grand walls painted a dark gray were dappled by the warm shade of maple trees and cherry blossoms. From these walls sprouted gothic spires that stretched towards the hazy summer sky with conical towered roofs, simply for decoration though they provided the stately manor with a rather ominous appearance. Each section of the large house unraveled far to either side of the main pillared entrance. This was the Himeno manor. The outside, at least. Exuberating aristocratic influence and a sense of ancient elegance. The dwelling the snowy widow called home.
Black heeled boots clicked softly on the cobblestone courtyard leading up to the elegant house. Squared serpents of thin hedges snaked along either side of the courtyard as if serving as naturistic guidelines to its broad expanse. Though it was really a way to alert visitors and wayward servants not to trod upon the emerald sea of grass beyond on either side. In the heart of the frontal courtyard was exhibited a collection of blooming white roses encircled by an isolated ring of the guarding hedges. A small stone pillar protruded from their flowery mass reading the residents' prominent lineage name, Himeno, in engraved kanji.
This was Alice's graceful abode. The origin of her mannerisms and etiquette. A cesspool of elegance. Alice never quite followed the manor's stuffy rules - even having grown up here - but then this little trip back home was different this time around. She had brought a guest. Rather, that guest had been requested by the head figures of the house itself. Alice's parents.
Frosted orbs flickered to the boyish girl as she continued her elegant trek up to the large, ornamental front doors. Yes, her parents had requested to see this girl, the one whom their daughter had been practicing dancing with. It could be called a bit of an uncomfortable request, on Alice's part mostly, but also one of judgement and impressions. Really, Alice was a bit uneasy about the whole ordeal. She wondered how it would even go. Not only that, but she had had to bring Jessie here. To her house.
A soft sigh fell past slightly scowling pale lips. Jessie would need to be able to make a good impression. Though the widow's mother would be quite easier to please, her strict father was a bit of a different story. Hopefully it all went well... Stopping at the front doors, the spider turned elegantly on her heel to face Jessie, white ribbons of hair swirling like falling snow at the action. Her lips held just a faint blossom of color to them. She really disliked wearing make-up, but it was only of her family's standards when in the presence of others on the mansion's grounds. Similarily, her usual outfit had been smoothed and inspected for any possible imperfections before doning it. All the extra little touchings had been a bit of an unnecessary bother to the widow, though it was her family's wishes for the spider at least.
Letting out an icy breath, she parted her lips to address the boyish girl softly. "I am going to notify everyone of our presence in a moment. Is that alright?"
The snowy spider didn't really want to do this, but she didn't really have a choice. It had been her parents' request, after all.

If she could have she would have taken a few pictures. Yes this building was far more beautiful then shed imagined the gothic art of the home gave an elegance to the hole building. It almost reminded her of an vampires home of sorts. A beautiful mysterious home, quite fitting for her friend next to her.
The view was breath taken as white roses guided them to the door. Jessie chest tightened a little she was to meet her dance partners family. She had readied her self best she could. Using her eye for fashion she had bought a new outfit for the occasion even. Black ankle boots hit the coble stone steps . These boots held to tight skinny black jeans that was lightly covered by a long blossom pink shirt. It was stylishly shredded at the edges. This lead it to become sideways one half of the shirt reached her knee the other laced over the belt that held to her hips. A black and pink plaid scarf held loosely over her neck and shoulders. As a black pleather jacket fit tight to her arms and back.
Jessie truly looked as if a jpop star of some kind. Her hair was styled nicely as well as light make up touched up her face, mainly to hide the still blue mark that graced her face. Though this make up could be for either male or female. Yet still with all the work she did to try and look her best and most confident her stomach was still twisted in nerves.
They had reached the door, hearing what the snowy figure had said she nodded letting out a pent up breath she closed her eyes to calm her self opening then to a careful narrow to give her self a more mature look she finally spoke " Ready."
Her features were kind but she new very well if she was going to impress Alices family she had to come off as mature.

Icy eyes examined Jessie one last time, checking to see if everything was in order with her. The girl's stylish outfit had been a fitting choice; the widow actually found it to her liking. It gave Jessie a mature appearance. Alright, here it goes.
Turning elegantly back to the door, Alice raised a confident gloves hand and knocked softly on the polished door. Instantly, it swung open with a gradual swish. A young maid poked her head out. Atop her head crested a frill of white lace similar to the ones flowing out from her pintafore and the ends of her long black servant dress. Black hair styled into a stiff bobcut framed her youthful face. Upon noticing Jessie and Alice, she dropped into a low, formal bow, honey gold eyes flickering up to analyze the...boy? Girl? Who was that her snowy mistress had with her? Regardless, she scurried to push the heavy door open all the way.
"Ah, mistress Alice! I sincerely apologize for not tending to your initial arrival! Please, do come in." There was a foreign accent to her mousy voice.
"Please don't worry yourself about that, Charlotte, it's quite alright." Alice offered with a slight bow of her own.
Motioning to Jessie to follow, the widow waltzed inside, black boots creating an empty tapping as they collided with polished granite tile. Meanwhile, the maid remained frozen in her bowed stance as she waited for the two to enter. Peering up beneath fringed, straight cut bangs, the young woman turned her gaze to Jessie. This rather attractive guest was a boy...right? Either way, the woman gave a graceful try. "Ah, excuse me, sir, would you like if I stowed your jacket on the coat rack inside, or would you perhaps find it more suitable to keep it on?"
Alice tried to stifle a chuckle upon the hearing the label used for her partner. Sir? Did dear Charolette honestly think Jessie was a boy? Well, Jessie did resemble one, so it was possible. Rather than correct the young woman, however, the snowy spider simply let it slide, amused to see how long it would take for the favorable maid to figure it out on her own or if Jessie would correct her. A few additional soft exclamations of "Mistress Alice!" choired from all around the spacious, crystal chandeliered foyer as a small flock of curious maids entered the room to possibly lend assistance if needed.

They stepped in, looking around the building was as gorgeous in as it was out , it seemed Alice was far more wealthy then she first thought. A small mouse like maid let them in. As she did so she graciously asked a simple question of the pink haired girl, though a slight amusing mishap accrued. Though Jessie hadn't even noticed , she was so use to it by now through her forced teachings in went in one ear and out the other. " Why thank you, but I'll have to decline. "
She allowed her head to tip to a bow to the maid. Her voice was more confident then even she had thought of would be , and her tone still was laced with a boyish one. Though it was higher then most. Giving a light smile her gaze shifted as a few more maids made it clear they were excited to see Alice again. Looking at the back of Alice Jessie walked up to the scene . " My Alice you sure have a lot of helpful hands ."

Charlotte offered another gracious bow to Jessie's response before closing the door shut behind the two. "Very well, sir. I hope you find the manor utmost welcoming. Please do feel free to inquire for assistance should you find you need any."
With that, the young woman retreated further into the room to briefly discuss a few preparations with another youthful maid. Alice couldn't help but wonder if Jessie was referred to by the male label often. Maybe she was used to it. That could be possible. As for Jessie's comment, the snowy spider let a single soft chuckle slip out. "You think so? The Himeno manor houses quite a few maids."
The handful of maids that had come to the snowy spider emulated sheep. Normally, they were quite more reserved, but with the return of the young mistress, they were eager to greet her. Alice waved them off with a graceful hand, receiving a collection of elegant bows in return. When they rose from their bows they looked to Jessie, smiling and bidding her a warm welcome to the manor. It wasn't often that Alice brought a guest. Well, Alice had never really brought a guest before. So it was an exciting experience for the ladies. A bit of a surprising one too. Especially since they pretty much all had mistaken the girl for a boy. Which wasn't exactly a good thing regarding the well-mannered ladies rarely ever got to interact with young males. Though of course Jessie was not a boy.
Finally, Alice addressed one by name - a short maid with pale hair fastened into dangling pigtails by the name of Rika. The short woman bowed low; a maid's way of standing at attention. With a flick of an ivory hand, the widow granted her permission to rise.
"Dear Rika, may I ask the whereabouts of my mother?" She inquired softly.
Instantly, the maid spoke up in a high voice. "Ah, Lady Himeno? I believe she--"
"--Alice~ My dear, welcome home." A rather quiet, yet mellifluous voice suddenly drifted down from atop the regal three-way staircase of the grand foyer, interrupting the answering maid. All the maids swiftly turned to the captivating lady at the top of the stairs, exclamations of "Lady Himeno" ringing through the room. Alice glanced at Jessie for a moment before returning her frosted gaze back to her approaching mother.
Glistening white heels tapped melodically down the stairs and onto the reflective tile floor. Silken, straight white hair spilled down the woman's back and in front of her shoulders in a glossy wave, swaying as she moved. A formal gray equestrian vest adorned by a golden rose pin lay over a frilled gray and white Victorian-styled dress. With each step, the faint scent of roses swirled into the air. When she neared the pair, she dismissed the maids with a kind smile. Each frilled lady offered a now before scurrying off to the sidelines to watch like curious birds. Fixating her gaze back on the pair, the lady smiled at Jessie and her daughter, her eyes almost the same shade of ghostly blue. Similar to her daughter, she also exhibited albinism. But unlike Alice, her gaze held no ice. It was warm.
"A pleasure to see you, my dear." The woman spoke softly. Turning her gaze to Jessie, she looked her over for a moment with a slightly judgemental yet warm gaze. "And you, as well, dear sir. You are the one that has been kindly practicing with my daughter, correct?"
The woman for a moment thought of Jessie as a boy. Was this guest a boy? Remembering that Astrea was home to three all-girl's schools, she quickly realized her mistake. "Ah, ever so my sincere apologies, miss."

The woman that softly spoke Alices name came to sight. Gorgeous was a word that could be used, Jessie could tell were Alice beautiful looks came from. She watched each step the elegant woman took. So this was her dance partner mother.
Peering at Alice for only a moment, watching the maids leave. Seeing how Alice and her mother spoke to one another. It was all a soft scene as if a lightly sketched picture was dawn before her. Her gaze met the white haired woman's as the attention was turned to the pink boyish girl. At first she was once again mistaken for a male, yet just like Alice , her mother had a keen eye.
This was the moment , for once she was lucky to have the teachings she did, to be a gentleman. Bowing she let her hand softly lift Alices hand . " It is a honor to meet you , Alice is a grand dance partner to have. I see now whew she got her elegance from. "
Raising her head she gave a soft smile as she allowed her hand to fall from alices mothers hand. Standing straight she looked at Alice, her stomach knotted again. Did Alices mother dislike physical contact as well, yet those eyes, there so different.

Alice watched Jessie and her mother interact. Fortunately, the boyish girl presented herself in quite a gentlemanly way. That was good. Had she been any less composed, she would have let a bit of a relieved sigh fall past her lips as her mother smiled next. It appeared as if she had been pleased with the introduction. Well, that was one. The Lord of the manor - her foreign father - would be a bit harder to impress. That was, if her mother had been impressed at all. Had she?
Yes, the albino woman had been for the most part pleased by the girl's introduction. Even when her hand had been taken, the smile remained. Though one could call it a bit of a shy smile. Her mother was actually a little of a timid soul herself; one of few words at that, really. Though being in the aristocratic position she was in, she always tried her best to lend her voice when required, especially when for her daughter's sake. Well, most of the time, at least.
"Quite a gentlemanly spirit, you are. I do believe you are an exquisite partner of practice. Thank you for dedicating your time to practice with my daughter." Again, the woman spoke softly, though there was a warmth in her voice that bordered acceptance.
The snowy spider allowed herself to loosen into her usual position. So far so good, she guessed. Half-meeting Jessie's gaze, she noticed the girl was nervous. Or at least it seemed like it. Her mother and her were almost polar opposites in some cases; one was okay with contact while the other disliked it, one was relatively lukewarm to the touch while the other was ice cold. Though only one was dangerous.
Turning to her icy daughter, the woman offered a softer smile. "A lovely partner you have found, Alice. Please do keep practicing. If you are to look for your father, however, I am afraid he is not present at the moment, though he should return shortly. Maybe your partner here and you could do something for a while until he arrives? Now, if I may excuse myself, it was a pleasure to meet you, miss."
Alice gave a slight, teasing smirk at her mother's words, though it faded promptly at the mention of her father's absence. So he was out. Ah, that was not very fortunate. Though for some reason, it relieved her a bit. Maybe it was best that the inteoductions were spaced out instead of both one after the other. Giving an elegant bow to Jessie, Alice's mother skirted past the pair and out the front door, a small flock of maids trailing her like sheep. Sometimes even Alice didn't understand the mass of helpful ladies. Ah well.
Soon it was only the two remaining in the foyer. Well, there were still maids lingering here and there - tentative Charlotte being one of them - but they stood off to the side as to not bother if they weren't quite needed. Though Charlotte did have an eye on the boyish girl. Letting out a frosty breath, Alice tilted her head slightly from where it lay on a folded hand, icy gaze flickering up to her partner. What now? She honestly had no idea.
"That seemed to go reasonably well." She commented in her naturally monotonous voice. "She seems to be pleased with you."
Or at least from what the widow could infer.

As alices mother spoke to Alice her self Jessie kept her eyes on the two,not letting her gaze leave them. Though she did feel like she was being watch, this was worse then when she first arrived to the school. Blinking as the soft voice was turned back to her she gave a soft smile. " I look forward to seeing you again , Do have a lovely time out." She watched as the white spirit of Alices mother left. A scurry of maids close behind. Jessie looked back to Alice and as they were more or less alone she let a sigh of relief wonder past her lips. " She is a lovely woman , I am honored to think I made a good impression. I hope I can do the same with your father ." Jessie had many more questions but they could wait ( I am guessing they are sitting now? ). Crossing her legs she looked around , her eyes meeting one of the maid from before , giving a sweet smile she gave a light wave and let her hand fall to her lap as her gaze turned to Alice. Finally she relaxed a bit letting her eyes soften. " Alice do you mind if i get a tore? "

"My father is a bit...harder to impress than my mother." Alice offered with a slight flick of a lily-white hand.
Though it was typical of fathers in most situations. As for Jessie's comment about her mother, the widow gave an acknowledging nod. Her mother was an exquisite woman, she could admit. Though Alice wasn't quite sure she could ever really amount to her elegance. But spiders did work independently of their family ties. Some, at least.
The snowy spider watched as a smile and a wave were given to a watchful maid, specifically Charlotte. From across the room, the onlooking maid became a little flustered, averting her gaze shyly while a few surrounding maids giggled. For some reason this...irked the widow a little. A slight ounce of jealousy, really, would be the right word, but the snowy spider brushed the feeling away. Though why jealousy? She shook her head of it.
Then the inquisition of a tour was given. A tour, hm? That would take up some time. Although, the manor was pretty large, not calculating the outside. "Alright."
Pushing herself up, she smoothed out her dress and waited for Jessie to get ready to walk. This whole thing - her parents request to meet Jessie - had thrown the widow off a bit. She really hadn't expected that request in the first place. It was understandable, but it had surprised her a bit not to mention almost stressed her a little. Showing another her dwelling... Ah, this could go a number of ways.

Alice seemed to be thinking to her self for a moment, maybe the hole situation had the spider conflicted in some way. After all Alice hardly spoke of her family. The idea of a tour was taken. Elegance was shone as Alice rose from were she sat. Waiting for Jessie to follow,oh right!
Blushing a bit Jessie had gotten lost in thought. She soon stood, and stretched her back as she did so. Soon they took steps to leave the door. She looked over at the giggling maids and the blushing Charlotte. Jessie blushed in return, what was that all about?
Clueless. Yes Jessie wasn't the best at reading situations. As she fallowed the white haired ice figure she finally spoke up in a slight whispered stutter. " Um did I do something ? I am not use to having all these people around."

Icy orbs jadedly surveyed the maids as Jessie prepared herself to follow. She guessed most of them thought of the boyish girl as an actual boy. Ah well. That couldn't really be helped.
Shaking herself from her thoughts, the wintry widow began walking with the girl. Perhaps she'd start with the inside first. Some rooms were kind of the same, so it wouldn't take too long. Suddenly Jessie spoke in a quiet voice. Ah yes, the maids. A breath fell from the snowy spider's lips along with a soft chuckle.
"I don't believe so. They're just not quite accustomed to interacting with young guests. Especially attractive ones at that." The last part rolled out as a bit of a flirtatious comment.
Most of the people that visited the prominent manor were older business officials or other influential families. Many were often quite past their prime, men and woman alike. Though in this case, the maids were all a bit infatuated with the "boy" they'd all mistaken Jessie as. But that was only to be expected with a bunch of young ladies never really being able to interact with young males, even if they didn't quite know Jessie was a girl yet.
Feeling a bit in a sudden playful mood, an icy gloved hand gently reached out to take the warmer one as she commenced to start the tour. A tease to the watching maids, it was. Well, that and she did feel ever so slightly jealous. Though she was able to mask it well enough to make it seem that she was just truthfully leading the boyish girl. Why? And jealous of what? The internal questions frustrated Alice. Giggling maids watched in curiosity, Charlotte still recovering from her flustered state meanwhile.

Her hand was taken softly as Alice told her the reason of the giggling maids. Wait did the snowy angel just call her attractive. It was twirled off the tongue playfully, it caused a pink color yo shade the girls cheek as she held to the frost hand .
Yet then the pink haired tomboy decided to play along. " Then they must be going crazy , after all Attractive alone is one thing but when dubbed, those poor hearts."
Her boots hit the floor as she quicker her step to catch up to the fast paced elegance of Alices walk. Now a slight smirk held to her Rosen face. This chess game they played always seemed to help her nerves washed away. Weather Alice meant it or not she was helping Jessie.
Making there way through the first few places of the home her eyes took in every detail. A interesting home indeed. Lovely yet with a shadowed darkness, as such the style. It was beautiful, it its old look.

Another chuckle was elicited from the widow. Not only because of the satisfaction that she'd made the girl blush, but also because of what had been said in response. Alice really did enjoy this little game of theirs. Even if she did brush most of all flirtations regarding herself off. "Those poor hearts, indeed."
Still holding onto Jessie's hand all the while, Alice lead her through some rooms. One being a quaint conservatory adorned with a piano and red furniture. Another, a lavish sitting room with a moderate fireplace housing an overhead portrait of one of the Himeno family's influential female ancestors; Shigeki Himeno of whom Alice inheritated part of her name from. The rear foyer which was a bit smaller than the main one in the entrance and a large, chandeliered ballroom.
After a short break, the spider guided the girl to the quiet library then next the dining room and kitchen. There were a few grand guest rooms as well, but she chose not to show all of them since most were relatively the same. Upstairs came next, though it didn't take quite as long since most were either storage rooms or additional guest rooms so she could skip most of them. Though there was the luxorious master bedroom, a private study, and the maids' quarters of course as well as a terraced balcony connected to the squared hallway linking both of the branching stairways.
Finally came the widow's room. Alice wasn't too sure about showing it, but she waved off her brief hesitation and soon opened the ornate door, leading the boyish girl in. It was kind of cold in the room generically from the lack of use with Alice away at Astrea. Occupying the moderately sized room was a soft bed with white covers in one corner, a full length mirror by the door, an oak dresser, an antique bookcase lined with old books in French as well as neat folders of sheet music beside an ornamental desk holding sewing equipment. Atop the desk rested a neat stack of sheet music, a white journal, and a glass vase with an albeit wilted white lily. In one corner rested a collection of mannequins, some clothed in elegant lolita dresses while others stuck with pins to display unfinished experimental garments. A white violin rested upon a leaning stand among the sea of wired bases. The room revealed a bit about the spider overall, though not quite too much.
Letting go of Jessie's hand for a moment, Alice glided into the room to the window. She pulled back the silken white curtains, letting shafts of light fall into the room. She had to admit she kind of missed it. Its secluded security and overall soothing chill. Turning back to the boyish girl, the snowy spider adopted her usual position; crossing an arm over her torso and propping an elbow across the curved arm; icy eyes briefly analyzing her. What had she thought about the interior of the mansion? Of her room? Well, the only way to find that out was to ask.
"What do you think about the Himeno manor so far?" She inquired quietly. Really, this length of the tour had worn her out a little. They still had the outside to go, too, if Jessie was up for it, but if not, she could always just tell her the contents of the outside. Hopefully her father would be back soon. Maybe he was by now? Ah, if he was, hopefully a maid would come by and announce his presence soon.

Jessies eyes immediately looked to the desk there lay a neat stack of sheet music, a white journal, and a glass vase with an albeit wilted white lily. In one corner rested a white violin rested upon a leaning stand among the sea of wired bases. Jessie seemed to wonder about the lovely violin it looked so beautiful, and the wilted lily's caught her eye, so Alice liked Lily's?
It wasn't much of a room, seemed simple and elegant , a tad old fashioned. Actually. Yet some how it suited the lovely girl that now glistened in the soft sun shine that spread over the room from the window. She saw as how a petal from the now dead flower as the newly formed breeze swept past. " I think its all very lovely, a bit lonely but still , its a very elegant home."
As she walked in farther in her room her hand glided across the bed frame. Her eyes peered at Alice , she was as if a living Vampire amongst mortals, her beauty did indeed go along with his home. Suddenly her hand touched fabric, was it one of the hanging dresses, no it was the edges of Alices current out fit, realizing how close she was to her dance partner she took a step back. " F-forgive me I got lost in thought."

Lovely, lonely, elegant. All words Alice agreed were befitting of the manor. It did her lonely sometimes, she had to admit. All these rooms, yet only the maids or the irritating Kutsumari to share them with when her parents were out. Was Kutsumari even here? The annoying girl did always have a habit of sneaking undetected into the manor in some mysterious way.
Frozen eyes trailed Jessie was she walked into the room. Really, inviting someone into her room felt like inviting someone right into the heart of her venomous labyrinth-like web. Uncomfortable, yet she didn't mind that it was the boyish girl. Anyone else, she would have dragged out by now, but for some reason she felt okay with Jessie's presence here. Here where she spent most of her time in the large house. Alone by herself usually due to her own self isolation.
A hand suddenly brushed the edges of her dress. The spider tensed for a moment but her eyes didn't narrow. It had been an honest accident. Lost in thought, hm? The boyish girl was quick to take an apologetic step back. The action reminded her of the day at the beach. Of the confession and the pleasant kiss. Of the fingers that had laced through her snowy hair. She had enjoyed that kiss. Every aspect of it, really.
"It's quite alright, Jessie." Her voice was soft, yet held an unreadable edge.
Ah, her poisonous mind felt a little clouded. Averting her gaze momentarily in hopes to drive the memory from her head, she looked to the mannequins. Stiff wire frames supporting elegant dresses. She really needed to finish them some time. Now that she thought of it, the widow wondered how many times she had accidentally pricked herself with a needle sewing the dresses. Probably too many times to count, but she'd never be able to tell because she could never feel the telltale pain.
