"Honestly, I can handle myself as long as I know what's coming. I highly doubt I need to worry about moments like using the bathroom or anything." she noted, crossing her arms in a very Raion way. What would Raion say to this anyway?
Arceia had decided to interject, but did so with a motion instead of a word. She motioned to the lake, pointing out some lights coming from a ways out and onto it.
"Late night fishermen, nothing to worry about." she shook her head. "Let's all three of us head back into the building. Warn security on the way in to watch out for these guys, just in case."
"Very well." Arceia took the lead. "I doubt we'll have more trouble tonight now that they've been spotted, but just in case our target should stay center."
The walk back would indeed prove uneventful, save for a few strange sounds from Summer's room as they approached June's room. Yes, it couldn't have been those two, they weren't outside at the time. Arceia had decided to bid them farewell here, and when June protested for her safety, she flicked out a pocket knife in one hand and a phone in the other, insisting she would be fine. June hesitantly opened her door, and stepped into the room.
... Nothing.
She motioned for Zephyra that it was safe, and then made her first priority to check out the window for any hanging ropes or anything. Nothing there.
"Okay, so... Not exactly what I had in mind when I told you to come here." she sighed. "But we should be good now."

"Yeah, well.. assassination attempts are generally done when you least expect them."
Okay so maybe there was a bit more sarcasm than needed in that statement, but this was all crazy! She was just a farm girl, albeit a rather rich one, from a tiny (not really) ranch in the middle of an island. It was getting to be too much for the tall Gael and her nerves were a bit frazzled.
She crossed her arms over her chest as she followed the other two back into the castle. The stance was supposed to look like she was upset with this turn of events, but really she was just holding herself together. She wasn't use to being so helpless. The feeling of control she didn't realize she had always had was slipping through her fingers much like it had done three years ago. Her grip on her arms tightened for a split second, but thankfully the dark hid the slip in her mask.
Once they passed Summer's room her cheeks tinted a soft color, but it faded by time they made it to June's. A slight bow of her head was given to Arceia as she left them, showing a bit of appreciation to the woman that had come to their rescue.
Zeph waited outside like she was bid then followed her partner inside once she deemed it safe. The door shut behind her, from a tap of her heel against the wood. Then she let out a sigh as she reached behind her to releave herself of the restraining dress.
"It's okay. Just.. a bit different from what I'm use to. You have a fairly large family. It's refreshing, but a bit scary too."
Once the zipper was fully released, Zeph glanced up and caught sight of her girlfriend. She smiled slightly and crossed the room to stand before her. Hands reached up to cup her cheeks. As she closed the distance between their lips she murmured softly.
"I'm glad you asked me to come here. No matter how crazy it's been. But please be careful."
Her lips barely ghosted over June's before she pulled back.
"I don't want to lose you. Ever."
Then she brought her lips back to June's, exerting more pressure this time.

"Quite the claim." she suggested before being overwhelmed ad incapable of response. Maybe if I weren't so terrible at writing romance this would be an expanded scene, but instead, I'm going to be mean.

DAY FOUR
__________________
June wasn't terribly quick to rise that morning, but someone else was. It would appear that Luria had arrived early that morning and sat herself by the window, peering out. Perhaps she was even there overnight?
She was.
However, as nothing was happening that really seemed like more than a creepy wakeup, I'm going to pan us over towards Arceia. She had also been up pretty early, and had just concluded a phone call when she noticed Luria missing. The two did spend a good amount of time together after all. To her surprise, a note was there.
'Thank you for telling me about the attack. I will defend big sister tonight while you get help.'
"That kid..." she shook her head. It was true though, she needed to call someone about this. She opted at first to meet with Drey and discuss how this had even transpired. With the event over with, whoever the attacker was had probably escaped by now, but at that same token they'd probably stay close to her in order to do their job. Something was amiss.
Arceia and Drey decided to talk to June about this matter, and so they approached her room quickly, together.
Unfortunately, this meant three intruders on an otherwise probably peaceful morning. And Luria just let them right in without consulting either girl, or even checking to see if they were awake.

One of these days, I'm going to get you into romantic writings. I swear it.
__________
Zeph wasn't all that keen on waking early the next morning either. After everything that had happened she seemed to be done in for a while. So she slept on even with Luria sneaking into the room. Thankfully it was a dreamless slumber, one where she could get the rest she desperately needed. Curled up against her girlfriend's side, leaving the bed they had made up for her unused completely. Thankfully she was actually wearing modest clothing. A large tee that would hang to her mid-thigh if standing.
Her body was curled carefully around June's, practically clinging to her as she nuzzled against her shoulder. The bright light coming from the window was starting to bother her a bit, so she hid her face as best she could and let out a soft grumble of protest at being stirred from her sleep.

"I'm not even going to ask." Drey said, kicking the side of the bed. "Up and ready soldier!" he near shouted. June, startled, flailed to her feet and almost lost her balance. She definitely had a redness to her face. And everything else for that matter. Zeph hopefully didn't get hurt in the shuffle. Finally, June put one hand behind her back and another in a salute position.
"Sir!"
"The Order?"
"Y-yes sir! Last night sir!"
"Did you get a good look?"
"No sir! Only defining feature was height, sir!"
This was the most awake June had ever been before noon.
"How tall?" he asked. Arceia interrupted.
"About as tall as Luria. I got a good hit in on one of them myself. Felt like a curvier body, so I'm going with female."
"S-sir, it's as she says sir!"
"At ease."
June relaxed a bit, almost stumbling over.
"This is serious, June. The Order shouldn't have been able to get in. I didn't tell anyone you were coming, and I made sure every guest was screened carefully for dangerous weapons. Whoever wanted you last night really could have done the job if not for Arceia here, and probably your little friend." he motioned to Zeph.
"I know..." June sighed. "I should have stayed up and came to you right away."
"Yes, you should have. But we're here now. So let's figure this out."
"But... Food..." June sat beside Zeph. "And I'm not even dressed yet."

Thankfully, or not so much, Zeph had plenty of experience with this sort of wakeup call with Bridgette, so by time June was done flailing out of bed, she was on her feet. Hand reaching for the blade she normally slept with under her pillow, but then everything started to come back. She wasn't at home. Bridgette wasn't about to send her sailing across the room with a well placed kick and she wasn't fighting for her life here. Instead she quickly hid behind a wall of disheveled red hair, hoping no one noticed her blush as she straightened her tee then settled back on the edge of the bed.
"Left handed.." The Gael cleared her throat, making her voice a little less husky from sleep as she brushed back her hair to tuck it behind an ear. "One was left handed."
When June settled back beside her, a hand gently rested over hers then she drew it back, remembering whom was in their company. Not that it mattered much, he had seen them curled up together. Her blush started to flood back over her cheeks and she kept her gaze on the floor.

"Left handed?" Drey noted, and nodded to Arceia, who quickly dispersed.
"She will keep an eye out. Which is... Not normal. Did you two make up?"
"I'm not sure." June leaned on Zeph, about to fall asleep again. "She's been very different lately."
"Maybe this is the start of something good." Drey crossed his arms similarly to Raion, and leaned against the door frame.
"The Order is tricky. Maybe some context would help out the newcomer."
"Luria, why don't you tell her?" June suggested. "You two should talk more anyway."
Luria turned, and nodded blankly. She took a deep breath and began to mull over the things she knew in her head.
"The Order of the Ezic Star is a cult that formed here a long time ago. After Mirroheart Family took the castle, they Ezic went dark, but they show up occasionally to mess with the place and try to reclaim it. The cult's beliefs are still kind of vague, but as far as we know they worship something called Ezic and they want to either kill off or scare away everyone close to Mirroheart Family. We aren't sure why, but June is their main target right now. To keep her safe and to help her cope with some past issues, she was sent to Astraea Hill."
Drey nodded.
"They really don't make any sense. Like they're some hastily written villain for some terrible filler plot. But they're still dangerous. You two should stay indoors today. Preferably public places. Head down to the tavern and fuel up, Arceia and I will be tailing you today for safety."

An arm automatically lifted and wrapped around June's shoulder, drawing her closer as she tilted her head to lay her cheek against the top of her girlfriend's head. By now she was wide awake, no chances of falling back asleep now. She almost sighed at that disappointing revelation, but her focus was glued to Luria and it would seem like a rude gesture. Zeph nodded slightly as she took in the info, rolling it over in her head as she tried to come up with a conclusion as to why June would be targeted by the group.
"I see.."
She kept her thoughts to herself for now. And her questions. It wasn't likely they would get answered anyway, so if she stewed over them she might just come up with them herself. Her hand was absently rubbing at June's upper arm as she thought then her attention was drawn to Drey. A slight nod was given.
"Alright. We'll get dressed and head down there soon. Will training be out of the question today?"

"No no, you should definitely train." Drey nodded. "They'll be watching you if you do, and that means all Arceia and I need to do is watch whoever watches you. They'll want to know how to handle you, so they'll eye you the most closely if you train."
"Sounds good." June nodded and turned toward her wardrobe to get dressed. She clearly didn't care who was there, and Drey just took his leave as unphased as June was. They seemed to get along like a father and daughter would. Luria seemed to stay, watching the windows once more.
"Alright then, let's pick something to learn." June began, throwing a few articles of clothing she had just been wearing in the direction of Zeph. Yes, that's intentional. "I can build your pain tolerance, we can work on some hand to hand, or I can try to cater something to your style."

The Gael nodded as well but kept quiet as she turned toward the suitcase that held her clothing. When June started tossing her clothing her direction, Zeph deftly caught the fabric and laid the pieces on the bed. She shook her head slightly as she grinned and pulled her own night shirt off to replace it with a tight sports bra, then dry gear. A tank top of deep hunter green and a pair of black, clingy capri type pants. All that was left was her socks and narrow soled running shoes. And pulling her hair back of course.
"I don't mind any of those. Whatever you believe is appropriate to start out with is fine by me.." She paused in tying her hair back and pursed her lips. "If they're going to be watching, what do you think will be the most effective to make them think twice about attacking?"

"They probably know about the Mirroheart Pain Resistance technique. But pain is'nt the goal here, death is. So that's out. They likely know what I'm capable of too thanks to the tournament. I wasn't even going to participate if Arceia wasn't here, but--"
Hold up.
"Zeph, do you suppose, maybe, I was invited to participate because they wanted to watch me? Because if that were the case, I think I have some ideas about who this duo was."
Luria remained silent the whole time, but she was paying close attention, and texting Arceia some of the information they were sharing. Maybe having everyone on board could figure this out.
"Hear me out. Haven't we been... Seeing that girl a lot? Like a lot a lot? She's everywhere we go except here."

Zeph looked up from where she had kneeled next to the bed to tie her shoes. She crossed her arms over the plush surface and settled her chin on her folded limbs.
".. It would make sense. Perhaps they wanted to make sure you were still a threat and hadn't turned soft at Astraea. That way they would know how to come at you."
She hummed softly and looked to the mused bedding as her eyes narrowed. Then her head popped up.
"There was a girl I thought was following us when I went to town with Luria and Arceia. But I pushed it off as coincidence. And when we were in the tavern."
She bent and quickly finished her tie job before standing and smiling brightly.
"Why don't we offer them to join us in sparring today if they're in the tavern? It'll be easy to pick out if they're left handed then."

This was beginning to add up, except for one detail.
"If it is them, they're already outclassed. One of them, Winter Dusk, was my first opponent yesterday and I beat her in one swing. I know we have no suspects for the second one, but the first one at least was just... Well, she's no threat."
It was an odd time to pop in, but Luria decided she didn't care about timing.
"You know as well as anyone that it could have been a matter of holding back, sister. Like you do against literally everyone."
"if she's faking her skill level, she's really good at it. Her footing was stiff and more ladylike than any fighter could reasonably get away with. It's what won me the match so quickly. She kept stepping in a straight line, not letting her legs move anywhere but directly in front of her."
June had spent too much time going over thoughts and decided it was time to make a move, and it seemed Zeph was also on board. She settled into her street clothes, which were something of an oddity if you weren't a Street Fighter character or something, threw on her weighted gloves, arm bands, leg bands, and covered the leg bands with her pants making it look like she was wearing baggier clothes than she actually was, which was a nice illusion of sorts for people to underestimate her with.
"I think I agree, but we need backup too. We don't make any moves without Arceia there. Two on two is fair, but I only fight fair when it's for sport. When lives are at stake I want to have the higher odds no matter what."

As if an after thought, Zeph strapped on each of her weights as well, leaving the vest behind, so instead she slid a few more slender bars into each band around her limbs.
"If she was trained in such a manner it is easy to fall back into. Even with heavy training against that." It sounded like she was speaking from experience.
After all, that was what most of her childhood consisted off. Training to be the wife of a wealthy man some day. Bridgette had finally snapped her out of the habit about a year ago, but when she grew absent minded.. it tended to come out in her mannerisms.
"I'm not sure if they would go so far as to hire an assassin or have someone within their ranks preform the deed. But, if she is hired she might have even trained to make it seem like she was a lady. Afterall, she was only in there for a moment with you. Longer may have given her away. I guess we'll just have to face them and see. I'd rather find out than speculate anyway."
Zeph rolled her shoulders and tilted her head from side to side before bouncing on her toes and grinning. She had been antsy to move since the Crusades yesterday and this was her chance to show June how much she had improved with her late night training back at Astraea.
Okay. Maybe she just wanted to show off.
