Connections were starting to form in her mind as she reached out for June's shirt once she turned. Gentle hands eased the shirt up to view the damage done, it wasn't bad, but there was some dirt around the pricked skin so she liberated one of the gauze pads and poured some water over it so she could wipe away the dirt. "So, is that where you got the scars? Something attacked you on the forest? Yet you still made it out.. You must have lost a lot of blood with how deep the cuts must have been."
Zeph's voice was lowered and her brow was furrowed as she focused on the task before her. She didn't exactly want to press for answers, June would tell her if she so pleased. But she would still wonder on it if it was left open.
The whitette's questioning made her pause in her movements, but she quickly recovered and ran a clean edge over a puncture that was still bleeding a little.
"..My own stupidity, really." She seemed hesitant at first to continue, but really she was just trying to think of a way to word it. "I placed affections on someone I don't believe I should have and I saw them with someone else on my way here. So my anger was fresh when you arrived."
In all truths the anger was just an easier outlet than the hurt that was still radiating in her chest. It was silly to think an upper classmen would think of her the same way. She was just a first year after all. Once again, the redhead was blaming all of her pain on herself. Weighing down her shoulders, rather it be her own than to pass it off on someone else and harbor a grudge.

June made a nod, more for herself than Zeph. She was coming to terms with telling someone this story finally.
"I'll keep it short; When I was about twelve, Arcy and I had a little camping trip, and things happened that made me leave the sight at night. I must have disturbed one of the locals because a panther attacked me. I fought it off through adrenaline alone, and as soon as I got to the main road I collapsed." a shiver ran up her spine as she recalled the night. "I would be dead if not for a friendly passerby. That's the leg. As for the eye..."
Another deep breath.
"Arcy was pretty bitter about me leaving, and tried to cut it out. I managed to hold her back after I realized what she was doing, but everyone still thinks she was just playing a little too rough with me. Nobody believes she attacked me and that's far too long ago to do anything about now."
This was where she stopped. Too much to really talk about there, and not enough willpower to do it. And besides, she had asked her question first, so she was glad to have gotten an answer, but angry at what the contents of that answer had been. And for all intents and purposes, she was also a bit angry at herself right now. Recalling the Arceia drama had been a bit hard on her, but it also made her realize Zephyra had just done something similar. Not quite as psychotic, but definitely a similar idea behind attacking in anger. She already failed to help someone control that once, and as far as this moment was concerned, she wouldn't fail again.
"For their sake, don't give me names." she said sharply. "Because I will find and 'talk to' these girls personally. If you want to give me names anyway, you've been warned." A small amount of pain reached her just then, potentially because the cleaning of a wound was always more painful than the acquisition. She tensed up, and it could easily have been mistaken as a response to the comment rather than the pain. She wouldn't say one way or the other.
"You're worth more than that. Don't blame yourself for the devious actions of those around you." without regard to if the wound was actually cleaned or not, June spun to face her friend and put a hand on her shoulder. "You need to fight for what you want. Even if you break something in the process, don't ever go down without throwing a few punches. Understand? Closure is just as important as the tension itself."

"Who the hell keeps a panther as a pet?"
Out of all the things the redhead would pick out.. She made a face behind the girl's back and shook her head.
"I am glad that passerby found you. You are a good friend, June. I would not wish to miss out on the times we've had together even if I hadn't known they were possible."
Her hand paused when she spoke of Arc then gently continued to wipe around the wounds. When June stiffened she paused once more, but since she was almost done she hurried to finish.
"Those are terrible things to have gone through.. but they made you who you are today. They all happen for a reason, but that just sounds incredibly psychotic. Did they ever have her head checked?"
She was trying to lighten the mood a bit, since she had noticed June had gone quiet. Even if they didn't know each other well, she looked up to the whitette and didn't want to see her contemplating things too deeply when they hurt.
Just as she was pulling back completely the girl turned around and gave her a fierce gaze. Her lips parted a bit, but she ducked her head and nodded.
"No need to give names. It's in the past now and things will work out if they will. There are some things you can control and others you can't. I am not saying I won't fight for her. It's just that you can't force someone to love you. If she doesn't feel the same way then I will not force myself upon her. She has just as much freewill to choose as I do."
Her hand reached up to clasp June's wrist as her hand settled on her shoulder.
"But thank you. I appreciate your willingness to step in. This is my battle to fight though and I will face it when the time comes."

"A-ah, my phrasing was probably off." she laughed. "We were about two miles into untamed wilderness. By local, I meant a wild beast."
As much as she hated her scars, June was quite proud of herself for fighting off a black wildcat in the middle of the night.
"Funny you mention that. Arceia did have some brain issues we didn't find out about until she took over student council in m school. She had an enlarged blood vessel pressing on her brain that, well, almost burst. Almost." she recalled the story vividly. "She lost her memories for almost a full year - The same year Ken fell comatose if I'm correct. I think she got them back when her room mate kissed her."
Casually drop that comatose bombshell. Okay. What the Hell was wrong with the Kohma family tree that everyone was so tragic?
Oh yeah. Me.
"But she's a terrible person." June concluded. "And whoever the girl who abandoned Ken was, she's also a terrible person. There are too many terrible people running around is my point. That's why I'm so pissed that someone hurt you too. And I know she has free will of her own, but if what you're saying is accurate she could have at LEAST told you about this." a certain gaze that June had not shown to Zeph yet - the one that got her the nickname Demon - was now full force. Sharpened eyes, a bitter scowl, and a trembling in her shoulders.
"Good people keep getting hurt, and I just hate that. Especially good people who I know personally. So if she leads you on again, so help me, she will learn what Abyss Style is capable of."

The redhead blinked, her expression one of being caught off guard. She wasn't exactly great at cutting off her emotions so they wouldn't play across her facial features.
"Well then.." Her lips twitched to the side after they pressed together. A signature move showing she was thinking. "A lot of things have seemed to happen to you and your family. Are you sure a fae hasn't put a curse upon your house? Sure seems like it to me, a chara."
Instead of shrinking back from a gaze that had quite possibly terrified many others, Zeph smiled lightly. It was a sad smile, but it was there nonetheless.
"You see, the issue is, that I have never expressed my feelings in words. So it is possible that she doesn't even know that I feel this way."
Both hands reached out and clamped down on June's shoulders. Trying to give her something to ground to so she wouldn't shake her clothes off or something ridiculous like that.
"I'm certainly not trying to make excuses for her. I just want all the facts out there. I don't even know that she isn't with someone. The subject was never brought up. I gave my heart knowing it could be, but hoping it wouldn't be broken."
There was a slight pause as the girl rolled her next words rolling around on her tongue.
"I can't speak for the girl that left your cousin, but I can for A-.. uh.. This person. She is not a bad person at heart. She just simply isn't very open. And I'm a chicken. I've never felt like this before and I wanted to make sure it was true before I blurted it out for the world to hear of. And truthfully, there aren't many fully evil people out there. We are all human and we often make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes hurt the people around us and ourselves. But we learn from them and often make our bonds all the stronger for pushing through those issues together. Of course, there will always be scars left behind in their wake, but that's just a part of growing stronger, right?"
Why thank you for that wisdom, Buddha Zeph. You may now exit stage right.

((Gah mobile. Can't layout.))
It was hard to swallow everything she was being told. For one someone was defending their burdens. On another note, she was right. Well, mostly. She was right that people make mistakes. She had made plenty herself. But she was wrong about the people of this world. June had seen too much selfishness and hate in her life to accept that people were naturally good natured. Her idea of good nature was quite simply not present in modern life, and she openly missed the days where survival of the fittest was essential. Then maybe these awful people would vanish.
Then the scars comment. She didn't know if it was an allegory or a jab, but she sure didn't miss the intentional word choice.
"Ah, I wish I could see things like that. " she commented casually. Tension was gone from her as quickly as it came." But... I suppose I'll let this drop for now. I don't want to press it if you're sure. But if she hurts you again, I'll see to her punishment personally. "
Punishment was almost said with a growl. Okay Raion.
" After seeing your performance today, I've decided I'm going to stay on campus. " that's out of nowhere."I will be graduating this term. But seeing you and getting to know you, I think I'll stay. I have friends in high places, shouldn't be that hard to land a job here."
And then a hug.
"You've been such a good friend, I can't let you deal with this place by yourself. "

The grip on her shoulders lessened for a moment the removed itself completely as she seemed to have calmed. Zeph instead lifted her hands and smoothed back the few wild strands of hair. She shrugged not knowing exactly what to say. It was simply an outlook on life. Unbeknownst to her it was more of a security blanket so she wouldn't find her father, or rather the man he had become, a monster. But the next information that came to her was definitely uplifting.
"Really?! That's great! Wait.."
The redhead's brow furrowed as she processed all that was said. Her look only deeped in thoughtfulness as she reached up to pluck at her lower lip. All the while a light blush was creeping over her cheeks.
"So.. you're staying because of me? Well, not only me, of course. But to teach more people this? I think that's really great, June-sensei."
Her voice had taken a teasing tone as she tried to get her own attention away from what she had heard. Then she was wrapped in a very unexpected hug, but she returned it gladly.
"You'll be a great teacher. You have definitely been amazing in the time I've known you. And an even better friend. I'm glad we get more time to get to know one another."
When they drew apart she planted a gentle kiss against her cheek, right at the tip of her scar.

So she was lost. Big deal! Lots of first years get lost right? Well, probably, but she had been following no path. She just assumed the campus would have obvious boundaries and that the paths were more for the fastest route than the only one. How silly she was to have wandered all the way out here. That was okay though, because she could figure this out... maybe.
But then there were voices. Two of them in fact. One was seemingly deeper than the other - more rugged. That's when she decided to investigate. Maybe she could get some help getting to her duties. Worth a shot right? So, with a goal and little reason to do much else, she approached the sound of the voices. Her attire was still that which she came in with - a business suit of sorts that she was told to wear by her father. Professionalism was a big factor in her family after all.
That's when her eyes lit up.
"Nee-san?" she squeaked out excitedly. Before approaching, she had to make sure. Scars... Yes, that was definitely her. Nobody else wore such a mark as far as she knew. And she was with someone else too. Who was that? Ah well, don't worry about that now. She made no waste in time before approaching. She only had one thought, and it was of being close to her sister.
"I thought it was you!" she beamed, hugging June from behind so she wouldn't have to touch the other girl. "I'm so glad I came to explore campus early, or I may have missed you!
Oh, but June had sort of expected this. She knew Luria would be coming to the Hill. In fact...
"Oh hush, you wouldn't have missed me." she joked, reaching behind herself to pull her sister into a headlock. "Didn't Drey tell you?"
"Huh?" she managed, pulling out of the headlock. "Dad didn't mention anything."
"Ah, I won't spoil the surprise then." June relaxed her posture and laughed a bit. "I'm glad you're here though. Luri, this is Zeph. She's gonna be my pupil."
Luria immediately returned to a robotic, almost forced greeting.
"Hello. My name is Luria."
This was one weird place to be introduced, but hey, no time like the present. Plus, adding twists to threads to make them more random is fun.
"Zeph, this is my baby sister. Haven't seen her since she was seven. She's going to your school, so be my eyes on her alright?"

Curiosity reared it's head as she heard the calling of another girl and she drew back from the hug only to see a pair envelope June from behind. She grinned a bit. Zeph didn't know she had a sibling. Her head tilted to the side as she spotted the chainmail wristwatch and her smile grew.
The Gael remained silent as they exchanged words and took a few steps back to give them room. Her hands slid into her pockets as she grew self-conscious of her state of being. There was probably some dried blood on her face and her bruises could only be growing by the moment. She was drawn from her musings as they included her in the conversation.
"It is nice to meet you, Luria. I'm Zephyra."
The redhead removed her hands from their pockets as she swept herself into an elegant bow, one arm off to the side as the other pressed against her heart. She straightened and tossed her braid over her shoulder before she grinned at June.
"Of course. I wouldn't let anything happen to my sempai's sister." It was then her gaze was drawn back to the smaller girl. "I like your watch. Did you make the band yourself? It is well crafted. You can barely make out the seam of the links. May I take a closer look?"
Though the tall redhead wasn't wearing her preferential clothing today, it was seen in her eyes that she had a weak spot for medieval objects. Clothes, swords, chainmail. All of it. It was one reason she had not complained about learning fencing.

Senpai? So she was close to this girl then. Luria couldn't help but feel jealous since she wasn't really around most of the last six years, but she saw this coming. She just made the effort to hug June again as if to claim territory.
"I'll try not to be too much of a burden. " she said quietly. At that point she was asked about her watch. Simple enough, she could explain that right? Surely, but her tone didn't change. Still a robot.
" I made it from a surplus of galvanized steel wire and spun the Rings myself. The weave is nothing special, just dragon back. I don't like cloth watch bands, so this feels better to me. " and she concluded that with "Why, are you interested? I could make you something. Any friend of Nee-san is a friend of mine."
June was also impressed. Her sister had really grown in six years. This was going to be fun then wasn't it? SShe turned to Zephyra again.
"Hey, let's get you some ice or something for those wounds, alright? "

"I sincerely doubt you could ever be a burden. Don't worry about it."
The difference in her voice from when she spoke to June than to herself was not lost on the Gael, but she had manners. Perhaps asking June at a later date would be the best course of action.
"It takes a lot of hand strength to clamp those together. I've tried my hand at it a few times, but I've found I enjoy working around a forge more. My father has a man that makes our horse shoes on the estate."
Her head tilted as she took in the weave. Despite her words the weave seemed rather intricate. It must have taken her some time to piece it all together.
"I agree wholeheartedly. I don't wear a watch because cloth feels.. abnormal and doesn't let your skin breathe. Uhm.."
She wasn't exactly sure how to say why she was interested without giving away that she loved the period of knights and Princes. Like her normal clothing style wouldn't give it away in a split second. Silly Zeph. This brought a slight blush to her cheeks.
"I enjoy the time period." Was the only thing she murmured which was followed by a sweet smile. "If you have any spare time, I wouldn't mind a bracelet or something. Thank you, Luria."
Then June commented on her injuries and she nodded slightly.
"That would be welcomed. My face is starting to throb.."

"Don't let her size fool you, she's pretty strong." June joked, patting her sister on the back which Luria clearly appreciated as she started to blush a little and smile. The prompt of request had Luria speaking a little more freely as well.
"I'll see what I can do. Someone like you... Rosettes would work but that's a bit boring to make. There's always the Persian, or maybe Full Helm... Hmm..."
"She'll be on this all night." June shrugged. "Which is fine, but she might miss her maid duties if we don't remind her. Anyway, if you enjoy the time period, you should come to my master's ca-house sometime. Luria and I each have customized sets of armor there as well as our standard weapons. I'm sure if you've the aptitude he'd take you in and judging by what you just said, you may be able to use his forge to make your own gear."
Of course, June had no blacksmithing experience at all. Luria helped Drey make her gear.
"For now though, I'm betting you're gonna want some rest. Let's head back and get you into bed. I'll grab some supplies and stop by after that."

"Whatever you wish, Luria. I would cherish it no matter what. I've never had anything chainmail and it would be a great addition to my attire."
A small smile was given to June as well as a nod.
"I wouldn't want to be the reason she missed out on that experience. It is a lot of hard work, but it allows you to become intergrated into the school and meet a sempai or two that can help you. Better get her back before they think she is missing. I.. uh. I've never been that involved at the forge back home. I can make horse shoes and a dagger, but a full suit of armor is a bit out of my comfort zone. I wouldn't mind learning though. As long as Luria and your sensei wouldn't mind teaching. I wouldn't wish to impose."
The Gael smiled sweetly to Luria then tossed her braid over her shoulder and turned toward the direction of the dorms. Her toe tapped against the ground for a moment.
"Plus my bed and some ice sounds lovely. And I can show you my room. I finally got it all laid out the way I like. I don't have a roommate so we don't have to worry about disturbing anyone."
